Cant beat Gillams for an amazing selection of gluten free bakes. I've tried several, moist spicy carrot cake, banana and date and the delicious brownie. My fave is the home made tea cakes. Great service, nothing is too much. I dont eat carbs and they were very flexible with my lunch choices. Super tasty lunch and breakfasts and virtuous too.... More

I visit this cafe and shop often and enjoy everything it offers. From the Aladdin's Cave of its shop with its wholefood, ethical and environmentally friendly offerings, to the cafe itself for a leisurely spiced coffee and a homemade teacake, to the pop-up monthly restaurant with its fine vegetarian food and live music, Gillam's has it all. The food is... More

So good we visited twice in one day! Tea cakes and tea then lunch and more tea. Lunch was very popular but helpful waitress suggested return in 20 minutes which was successful. Would definitely visit again.

Quaint, interesting surroundings in attractive market town, staff pleasant, helpful and efficient. Crowded tables, broad selection of food and drinks, scone stale and jam tasteless.

Called in to this fascinating shop / tea room for drink & snack break whilst shopping in town. The aroma from the shop's supply of tea & coffee products is tempting & the quality & choice of meals, snacks & drinks enough for any taste. StFf are courteous and efficient. Well worth a visit.

Ordered the afternoon tea, uninteresting sandwiches, one choice of cake that was soggy and too large. The scones were dry as was the cream, couldn't decipher between the jam flavours...friendly service and lovely inside.. May try the savoury dishes if I went again...

We travelled here because we had seen it on TV and it looked very attractive. It's a shame because the place looks so nice and the concept of an old fashioned tea shop is great. The service was fine but the food was not good. Stale overly sweet scone; dried up clotted cream and red jam that you couldn't tell... More
