We have eaten here many times before & it has always been good. However last week, the food was appalling- my curry was swimming in oil and was inedible. The quality of the whole meal was poor.

Excellent food. Best Indian in the area and very good value. Will definitely use again as we all enjoyed every dish.

Placed an order through just eat, received a confirmation email at 7.09 telling me my order would be delivered at 8.20, 8.20 came and went I rang the shop to find out when my delivery would arrive, to be told it was on the way....9 pm arrived still no delivery, I rang again to be told it was on the way .. it is now 9.18 and I am still with no delivery, which I've already paid for using my card on the just eat site. I am no beginning to wonder if my Indian meal is infact on its way from India! Absolutely terrible service and the fact they think they can say 'its on its way' makes it okay just infuriates you as they try to pass you off with a lie. I'll be demanding my money back and I will certainly not be using this take away again. Poor!More

We stopped using this place for several months because the portion sizes kept reducing but we gave it another go a few weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised, good food, plenty of chicken and naan bread very tasty. We collected another takeaway tonight and neither...of us could eat it all - my chicken tikka masala had 12 pieces of chicken in it!! Absolutely stuffed 😛More

We visited here for our monthly blokes social. A couple of drinks in the local Wetherspoons and a 3 min walk to the restaurant. I had not realised it was under new management (with plans to develop & modernise the restaurant). New menu, the usual...choice of popular meals and a several chef's/house specials. As usual we tried a selection of main courses with rice and naan bread. All I can say the meal was excellent. Good size portions all round. Each meal had it's own flavour, the meats were tender. I find some meals in some Indian restaurants have very similar flavours and looks. Our selection did not. The service was excellent, the waitress was really helpful and attentive. I can only praise the place! We'll be back.More

If you judged by the outside of this upstairs restaurant, you'd walk on by. But a local recommended the food so we ventured up the shabby stairs, and it was worth it. The food was above average and the staff were very friendly. The menu...is extensive and included Bangladeshi specialities. And the vindaloo wasn't even the 2nd hottest curry on the menu!More

After a very odd visit to another Indian restaurant, we were very happy to discover this restaurant. Food, service and venue were a breath of fresh air in comparison!

I've used this restaurant several times whilst visiting the area and the food has been decent. However, my first take away from Bengal Spice was disappointing with the Onion Bhajis being re heated and as hard as rock, they were inedible. I could have taken...them back and complained but they shouldn't have been served to me as they were in the first place.More
