The breakfasts are incredible and the dinners are equally great. I would especially recommend anything fishy

The soup by far was the star of the show - it was delicious! Our mains were just ok - nothing to write home about. Service was wonderful though.

Great location, accommodation & food and particularly friendly and accommodating staff. Thoroughly recommended and likely to be a venue for another future stay.

Ate in two nights of our stay June 19-21. First night we ate from menu, I had pate to start then steak and ale pie, it was delicious. On this we decided to book Sunday evening too. Sunday had a set menu for Sunday dinners,...we both went for beef. I had the tomato soup, teriyaki pork, beef dinner then a chocolate dessert, all were delicious. Got to praise the chef and also the staff that were efficient and friendly.More

Good old fashioned hospitality is what you can expect here. The menu turned out to be a bit too sophisticated for the kids but we loved it. The bread was nice and warm to start which was a nice touch. A little odd waiting in...another room first before entering the dining room but we didnt mindMore

Following eating here during the National 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme we were so impressed that we went back as a table of five to celebrate my wife'e 50th birthday. real shame that current rules meant we could not invite others but what a...fabulous experience. We were looked after with genuine old fashioned attention to detail. We had a booking for 6 pm and were welcome to keep our table for the evening. All meals were perfect and really good value for money. As this place caters for weddings etc the size of the dining room meant spacing between other tables was huge. This place should be making a killing right now as it can comfortably cope with a lot of people in a very Covid compliant way. We felt totally safe at all times. The service and staff deserve a special mention as they put us at ease from the moment we arrived with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food and drink selection was excellent. This place is just up the road from us and we can't believe we have been missing this gem by travelling further afield. Easily my number one choice in the Workington area now. Well done to all of you and I really hope you get the customers you clearly deserve. We will be back.More

Really lovely hotel with fantastic views. Room was clean, bed very comfortable, lots of choice for breakfast which was very good, we had something different every morning. Felt very safe with Covid restrictions. Staff are all very friendly and can't do enough for you. Can't...wait to returnMore

Amazing place! Excellent location. Beautiful hotel with lots of character and amazing views. Extremely clean and well organised to cope with COVID restrictions. The food is fantastic and the staff are just so genuinely friendly and helpful! Special mention to Nicky the breakfast waiter and...Barry for being so funny and so helpful. Go to St Bees for a lovely coastal walk and go to Buttermere Lake for a lovely long walk with stunning views. Highly recommended.More

Hi. I have a feeling they don't allow dogs; and I have never seen any in there. Best to give them a call to double check though
