Unwelcoming lady serving behind bar serving indifferent beer in a nice old pub but with speakers in every corner nook and cranny blaring out terrible pop music. Not the place for a nice cosy chat with friends.

Called in at 1-15pm on Sunday 25th Sept. only ten people in the pub expected more as it was a beautiful day, just four people waiting for dinner. Decided to order two lunches, one beef and one pork, £6 each didn`t expect too much, but what a surprise it came within 15 minutes and it was massive, mashed potatoes, carrots,roast... More

I'm a little late in writing this review as we visited 2 weeks ago. We were staying a cottage near by and were a group of 13 girls on a hen do. The main reason we booked the Cavendish Arms in the first place was because it was the closest pub to where we were staying. I can't say enough... More

Dropped in here after a lovely walk around the historical landmarks. Pub was empty, only 4 people eating which gives you a bad feeling. We were hungry so ordered 3 x beef dinners and 1 x pork dinner. Had to wait about 10 mins for fresh veg but it was worth it. Out it came. Plated which I prefer to... More

On entering the pub, the staff were fairly unpleasant with the manager being rude to other customers. There were two other couples eating and our food took 1 hour to be prepared which was appalling. Food was satisfactory and in fairness it was the worst pub I have ever visited in my life. Very disappointing

The building is a charming old public house which has changed hands many times. The service is very poor and laid back and the food takes a long time to cook and they frequently run out of food meaning you can't have your first choice.

My partner and I were house hunting. We called in at the Cavendish Arms at 2:00pm on a Sunday afternoon. We wanted a cup of coffee. There was a table of 8 having their main course and a few couples, in no way was it busy and no one was drinking at the bar. We asked for two coffees and... More

Recently visited for a hen night. Large party of 32 people, service was slow, but this was expected as large group and food was all very fresh! Very friendly and polite staff. Andy was very helpful with organisation and helping us decorate on the day. Entertainment was excellent and a GREAT night was had by all! Would recommend, party were... More

Called after lovely day out in North Wales, thought a nice meal would complete the day. My husband ordered the steak pie, chips and gravy,no veg and I opted for scampi, chips and peas. We sat outside in the charming garden in the evening sunshine. idyllic! Dinner was bought out after a reasonable wait, to my husband's dismay veg on both sides... More
