Best Pub in Glossop in my opinion. It's a proper Pub with all the real Ale you'd want (and other drinks).

Nice to find a pub that concentrates on good beers without frills, no TV or load music, just packed with drinkers enjoying their ale, of which there is a very good choice. So if you want to find a real old fashioned drinking establishment selling great beer at a reasonable price then the Star won't disappoint you.

Not many old fashioned pubs left, this one could be great if it was cleaned up! The choice and quality of beer was good, but the place is smelly and in poor condition

As pubs were, but with the difference of wonderful craft ales rotated at dizzying speeds. No TVs or music, just people talking to each other over beer that's as wonderfully kept as it was cheap. Go there before the chains move in to 'improve' it.

lovely small pub, so hand for a quick pint before a train home. Very traditional with a good choice of real ales. This and the globe further down the high street are probably best for atmosphere. Just needs a few quid spending on deco and the men's toilets a bit stinky, but, that's the atmosphere that brings me back to... More

This pub is Old School....it's like going back in time inside which is a good thing. Its got loads of character. The Landlord and staff really know there stuff and rotate the beer choice so there's always something new to try! Ideal for a quite pint and a chat with friends.

Fair range of good ales, well kept. Lively crowd of customers, many thirty-somethings. Distinct shortage of grumpy gits hogging bar stools. Quiet back room with interesting photos and posters.
