What a lovely experience visiting this cafe. lovely food, and so relaxing sitting and watching the birds and a squirrel feeding outside. We didn't mind waiting as our croissants were freshly baked. It's a beautiful setting on the side of the river, and on the way in and out you can smell the wonderful herbs in the garden.

Visited this wonderful little cafe a week ago and enjoyed it so much we returned today with family. An absolute little gem in a lovely setting by the river. We sat by the windows and spent a lovely hour viewing all the birds that came to feed from the bird feeders. The coffee is superb and the homemade warm scone... More

My boyfriend and I stopped here for a drink and cake after a lovely walk in the Peaks. There was a small selection of potted herb plants for sale outside, then a little deli and a cafe. The cafe has a lovely large window with a beautiful view and feeders outside with lots of birds feeding which was lovely to... More

Met friends here for coffee before our country walk. Cosy place with views of the river & fields from its windows. Very friendly service and nice coffee. Would definitely visit again.

For me it's the lovely garden birds that makes this place different. There are herbs to buy, a deli with lots of jams, chutneys, chocolates, cheeses - I'm sure they'll be lovely but they are a bit pricey. The cafe area is small and compact and the view is so special - various birds in the trees and feeding on... More

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our way to our hotel and was so glad we did ! We had read the reviews on trip advisor and on pulling into the car park were a bit dubious as it didn't look anything from the outside, a bit weathered. We would have driven past. But on entering we... More

Called in here this afternoon for a spot of lunch. Sign on the door said cafe open until 3.30pm, so we went in, sat down and had a a good five minutes quite obviously studying the board. As I was getting up to order, the lady behind the counter sticks a "no more food orders" sign up. Really disappointed they... More

Decided that 'Storm Doris' wasn't going to ruin my plan to enjoy a birthday lunch today with my best friend at The Riverside Herb Centre in Hathersage. Although small, this lovely establishment punches well above its weight with great and very reasonably priced food, a lovely little shop and very friendly, helpful staff. Oh, and there is the famous bird... More

Great little menu, hot & cold food with delicious cakes to choose from. Pretty view of birds feeding from trees. Ideal if you are a bird watcher. Also a shop to stock... More

small café adjoining garden centre, drinks cakes etc. Wonderfull for watching small birds coming to a line of feeders just outside the big window. River below and plenty of cover close by for the birds.
