Out for a ride and popped in for lunch. Steak and Kidney Pudding and a Chicken, Leek and Bacon pie. Both home cooked and went down a treat. Too filing for dessert. Relaxed atmosphere. We ate in the bar but they have a separate room for dining. Recommended for sure.

Myself and the family went for an early New Year's Eve meal. Although very busy in the bar we were well looked after in the restaurant area. The food was wholesome home cooked traditional British food. I had lamb shank which was really good. Nice selection of drinks, ales and good selection of gins. Friendly and attentive staff. Could probably... More

Stayed locally over Christmas and went in for a few drinks after a long dog walk. Staff were warm in their welcome of both us and our 3 dogs. Great choice of gin and really reasonably priced. Also had an evening meal here and food was good pub grub - what you would expect but nothing more. The service was... More

We have eaten at the "Jockey" several times and for us they serve probably the best Sunday Lunch we have eaten all over England The portions at the "Jockey" are generous without being hideous and the Yorkshire Puddings must rival those served in that much boasted about County of three Ridings. One nice touch is the large boat of extra... More

Excellent food served by friendly staff in a traditional pub. Good use of local ingredients- one of the staff said the lamb was raised by her. Highly recommended.
