We went twice for a family meal during the pandemic and felt very safe the family were very friendly and careful with any hygiene rules and the restaurant was spotless. The food was reasonably priced, generous portions and all delicious as were the cocktails. If...you visit they also have a little shop within the restaurant selling their own family wine, raki and locally made honey and olive oil. We bought a few bottles of red and white wine and their honey flavoured raki all were lovely and real good value too.More
We had a great meal at Gorgona restaurant. I had a fresh fish - dorado, and my husband had the chicken souvlaki- both were delicious. It is a family run place with their own wine and oil. Our kind waiter sent us away with a...small gift of their family olive oil. The hospitality is outstanding!More
Certainly one of the areas hidden gems, not the easiest to find by accident but worth seeking out because the food is the best we have tasted on our 5 trips to Crete over the years,
Beautiful views of the sea, loads of outdoor seating...and amazing food full of flavour, everything freshly prepared and served with a super smile by the owners wife.
As an added bonus you must try the Cretan wines that are home made in the families vineyard along with the home made honey and Olive Oil which is available to buy inside the restaurant.
The Chef has almost 30 years of experience we are told and it shows, all our meals for our party of 6 were superb absolutely superb.
It is hard to choose the best dish amongst our choices which ranged from chicken fillets, Pork chops in a mushroom sauce, salads, garlic bread (absolutely delicious and fresh) and more.
Generous sized portions at very reasonable prices this was our first visit but certainly will not be our last and we will add this lovely restaurant to our weekly 'to do' list when visiting Crete as we love to do each year.
We were welcomed by not only the owner and his wife but the very accomplished chef and tended to very well throughout our visit. Everything we ate was tender, flavoursome, piping hot and delicious.
We entered as customers and felt we left as friends.
Easy to find on GOOGLE Maps and next door to the Nana Princess Hotel.More
We wanted to try an authentic Greek menu and Yannis's restaurant didn't disappoint. From the very first greeting to our final goodbye, which was sadly only three days, Yannis was the perfect host, genuine in his warm welcome to us, nothing was too much trouble,...he was extremely generous and the food was so good it brought us back three nights running.
The great food is complimented by beer with a twist - ice cold Mythos poured into a frozen glass, stunning. The icing on the cake was Yannis's very special present to us - our first taste of honey Raki!
Its a true family business, Yannis's family produce their own olive oil, honey and honey Raki which you can buy from him, great for presents back home.
We chatted about his plans for the business and we wish him and his family well for the future.
We have already recommended him to everyone we know and we will be back. As a travel agent finding Yannis was pure gold, I will be recommending him to all my customers visiting Crete.

If you are tired of paying tourist prices while staying at the resorts / hotels in the vicinity, this place is worth a stop. We did takeaway, mixed gyros dinner and Greek salad. Fresh and tasty, all that we needed. The owners Giannis and his...father were lovely to chat with while waiting for our order. The complimentary raki with honey was lovely. Thank you!More
