You cannot fault the size and quality of the Sunday dinner at the Mill House. Between us we had three types of meat, and all were perfect. Nothing left on any plate. I personally recommend the pork, as the huge piece of crackling was done to a turn. Oh, and the Yorkshire puddings are big enough to fall off! They... More

Went on Saturday for a girlie catch up.. Orders were taken but two of the mains came out well before the shared starter.. Then after a good few minutes their two sides of chips came out with the other two remaining main dishes.. We ended the night with v&ts and g&ts.. The tonics were not from a bottle but a... More

Turned up at 2.45pm expecting to be told service had ended. Welcomed with open arms, and taken straight to table. Staff were pleasant and attentive. The restaurant was really well furnished with old style chairs and tables, all mismatched, delightful. We all opted for the two course lunch menu at under £10 per head. The food was served quickly, presented... More

Been a while since we've been to the mill house but wont be returning in the near future. The table was dirty as were the plates, the staff were pleasant but the service slow, and the dinner was bland.

I booked afternoon tea for my partner and her friend. When she returned she told me that she had a wonderful afternoon and can't wait until the next one. My partner has been to afternoon teas in and around the Newcastle area, and puts the Mill House up there as one of the best she's been to. Well done Mill... More

First time here today for lunch. Poor service, ignored when entered, asked for ameretti beer, none, asked for Peroni, none, had to settle for pint of Kronenburg for £4.40. Food was average at best and minimal, paid £12 for lasagne the size of a deck of cards. Counted 9 chips that i was served. Had to send lemonade back as... More

We dined early with friends thinking on a Saturday night this would be the best option. The entire meal felt extremely hard work. Half of the drinks didn't turn up until after we'd eaten our starters, we had to ask for water to tide us over! We were informed there was a wedding on and a long list of drinks... More

After arriving for a pre booked meal we were eventually served....the meal was drier than Ghandis flip flop with a thimble full of gravy. On receiving our food we were asked if we required condiments...which never materialised....we'd finished our desiccated offerings still minus the condiments and gravy to pass our concerns to the waitress....who really couldn't care less...as opposed to... We just happened upon this place (not far from the Angel of the North) at lunchtime - what a diamond. The express lunch menu of 2 courses plus a glass of wine for £9:95 was great value for money and delish! (Main menu looked pricey but if the lunch was anything to go by may be worth a punt). Staff... We visited on a Saturday lunchtime with friends and we all ordered from the lunchtime special menu (2 courses and a glass of wine for £10). Whilst the lunchtime specials menu isn't extensive, it's certainly really good value for money and both the food and wine was very tasty (most of us had creamy mushrooms to start with, followed by...
