I would like to say it was a pleasure to see that the George & Dragon at Heighington Village is now open for food again after completing the kitchen rewiring, and can say I thoroughly enjoyed the steak night on Friday.

We were staying close by and the G&D was recommended as it was dog friendly. We only intended to have a drink, but the food looked that good we couldn't resist! Good choice, it was really good, great value and great portion sizes too! It serves food all day, and so we returned the next afternoon. Sadly, they'd had an... More

Ate here on a busy Friday lunchtime, good choice of unpretentious pub food, all freshly cooked and all delicious. Good sized portions, so sadly no room for pudding but would definitely recommend. Good service from friendly staff and nice to see it is dog friendly too.

I took a couple of friends to this pub and was amazed at the place. The staff were friendly and cant do enough for you. The food is of the highest quality and a decent quantity to go with it. Price is a bit more than probably most pubs but for the standard there it is worth paying. Would definitely... More

Me and my girlfriend were just passing through on our way to redworth hall hotel so we decided to stop here for a meal. It was quite busy but there was plenty of tables, we sat down at table and ordered drinks while we looked at menu. I ordered chicken parmesan and my partner ordered homemade lasagne. We both enjoyed... More

Our granddaughter Esme had just been born and we were visiting the area with limited knowledge of where we might be able to eat with our dog at our side. Google aimed us here and we were received with a warm welcome. We were on limited time as the hospital visiting time was fast approaching, we didn't need to worry... More

This pub has huge potential and it is such a shame that it is run so badly. The mother and daughter " team " who are front of house can be very brusque , the decor and carpets are badly in need of an upgrade or a good clean at the very least and the recent hike in prices for... More

A Friday Night Treat After an exhausting week slaving over the stove and reheating the bland tin of beans it was decided we deserved a treat. After booking a table in the restaurant from a local pubs guide for around 6.30pm we traveled by car and arrived to find it very busy a good sign most of the cliental was... More

This is a great combination of excellent food and real ale, in a comfortable pub in a lovely village setting. The prices of food and drink are more than reasonable and the quality is not lost by the portion sizes. Well worth a visit.
