Stayed @ Byfords across the road from KH (part of same chain), but the contrast could not have been greater. Granted it was a slow Sunday evg in mid-March but the experience was disappointing. Service slow, staff inattentive and, even for a simple steak & chips, steak was overdone and chips were under-cooked. Onion rings chewy. Lots left. Disappointing. For... More

We stayed here for one night as we were going to a wedding in the area. Our room fantastic! So big and even had a mini kitchen. Breakfast the next morning was in a cafe over the road and was the perfect send off for our journey home!

We have been to this pub/restaurant on a few occasions now and will definitely be back again in the future. The service is excellent and the staff maintain a perfect balance of friendliness and attentiveness without becoming overbearing /over familiar. We had preloaded, being a Friday night, and as soon as we arrived we were shown to our table and... More

We were looking around Holt and decided to give this place a try unfortunately not a good idea. I had sea bass with new potatoes and bacon and leak sauce . The fish was well over cooked. My husband had sausage and mash the potatoes were a runny splodge and looked disgusting. The menus handed to us were well used... More

We have recently moved to the area and are so happy to have found such a friendly welcoming pub. The staff are amazing, locals are chatty and the food is great. Couldn't recommend it enough! Bring your passport meet some fun people and have a great night! Just what holt needs!!!!

Since the new manager took over the place has gone down hill if you are an ale drinker. The tap room used to have a good selection, "a beer festival everyday" they proclaim above the bar. I visit regularly, but the fire in the snug is now rarely lit, and the entrance door closer is still broken, even though I... More

We ate here while on holiday at Blakeney. Lovely old pub with real atmosphere and very friendly staff. Great food all freshly cooked. Well recommend, Chowder, lamb burger, steak and ale pie, fish and chips, chilli. Seeing others peoples plates with there ordered food it all looked so good. And if the empty plates being cleared from tables is any... More

Had lunch on a rainy day. Nice young girl took the order and delivered the food promptly then it went downhill. Steak was fine but chips were tasting of poor or overused fat. Unfortunately that seemed to ruin the flavour of the rest of the meal. Just seemed all a bit off. Table beside us were being apologised to about... More

Ate there after eating there a year previous [and a few years previous to that] and looked forward to it. First thing we noticed the 'STEAK' letters were missing from the modern flat roof extension, then the range of steaks appeared greatly diminished and we couldn't find the homemade coleslaw side on the menu. Still we enjoyed our meal and... More
