After wandering around Sothwold failing to find a pub that wasn't fully booked we were delighted to stumble upon Mark's Fish Shop. The staff were friendly and the food was freshly cooked and very tasty. There's a rather novel side where you can sit and eat in which we did, whioe the take away customers go in through a side... We were staying in a cottage nearby and the owner recommend Marks fish and chips so was looking forward to it. Unfortunately they only had cod available and I enjoyed mine as batter wasn't thick. Unfortunately the chips were pretty awful- dried up, hard and ended up in the bin! It was reasonable but Felt let down as id rather... More

We've been coming here for some years and always found it fine, but today my husband's fish - he was the only one of our group to order cod - was dreadful. It looked grey and had a strange texture, as if it had been previously frozen, and was completely tasteless. We took it back and we're offered a new... More

Wet lunchtime in February. Surprisingly busy. Eat in fish and chips, great value and brilliant quality, as usual.

Small restaurant on the left as you enter Southwold High street, take away section from the side entrance. Cod/Haddock +chips £8, large fish portion very well cooked and presented, Southwold Bitter available in cans. They do what they do very well indeed, mix of couples and families. Opens 11:45, ideal place before brewery/distillery tours.

Called in with my wife having just arrived from Stansted. We had no great expectations but the meal was just excellent. We sat in and the service was friendly and good. We enjoyed it so much we returned a few days later with the same result. By far the best fish and chips in Southwold.

Service ok and food average, but served quickly and good value. The chips were served hot and were tasty, and good value for money. Recommend if your looking for a cheap and quick bite to eat.

The Fish is good. Unfortunately the chips let the meal down. On numerous occasions they have been more black and as another poster said; "Very Greasy". When wrapped together with the fish, it then makes the batter soggy.
