I love this pub and as it is just up the road from me it is always a first choice for treating friends and family when they visit as I moved up from the westcountry. My friend and I came in for dinner on Saturday...More

One of our favourite pubs. The food is far from your standard pub fare, it is superb. Varied menu and good choice. Current favourite is the Buttermilk fried chicken, it is divine, hoping it becomes a regular to the menu. (Hint hint). Sunday roast is...More

I'm really sorry for the confusion, someone should have given you a wine list to choose your wine. We only sell a 175ml of wine or 125ml on request hence the 175ml being our large, however you requested a pinot grigio which is one of...More

Ordered a pork roast and beef roast. Both excellent! Generous amount of meat (cooked just right), vegetables and gravy! Everything was very tasty. It's probably worth the trip from London for just the roast here!

We organised a 60rh birthday party at this place, we had the back rooms and snug and the meal was consistently a great standard. Imaginative flavours accompanied our dishes, the staff were friendly and efficient and the whole atmosphere was great. Highly recommend this place...More

Description
At Chequers we aim to provide a new way to dine, a relaxed vintage atmosphere, exciting rustic British food and a classic British bar.

With our chefs locally sourcing ingredients from only farms that we have firsthand knowledge of, foraging for those special ingredients that are forgotten on menus today and preparing every dish to let the flavours of each ingredient excite the taste buds exactly how they should.
This all mixed with our excellent wine list of classic and some very unusual great wines, and a classic British bar, we hope that once enjoyed you will just want to keep coming back.
