Absolutely perfect in every way, a lovely welcome from front of house followed by a drink at the bar by friendly yet professional staff. We had a 12:15pm table on Saturday 25th September (would like you to praise your bar staff along with all staff...involved) Had a lovely corner booth table in the conservatory as requested. Service really was exceptional on every level, felt like we were being totally spoilt absolutely loved how they have different members of staff for serving different courses, wine, the food etc exactly how a restaurant should be run!! The waiter taking our order was great very smart, lots of patience, very thorough with great guy contact. The food was amazing we never order from a set menu but it was the best set menu we have seen for a long time you could of had any of dishes on there all sounded delicious. I forgot to ask them to bring out a cake for our son so was going to do that just before the desserts arrived but they remembered from my booking without me even having to mention to them and brought it out just at the right time thank you so much Alec's you truly made my son's 16th one to remember. We have already booked to come back after having such an amazing dining experience.More

The service is impeccable… whether you’re a group of youngsters or not so young..it doesn’t matter..everyone is treated the same.. The food is fabulous, and the whole...place has a special feel. The staff are all attentive and adorable… Basically we love it there!! Here’s to the next visit!!More

Stunning restaurant. Food is incredible. I got the miso cod and it was one of the best pieces of fish I’ve ever had. Will be back.

Came here for my mum’s 60th birthday a couple of weeks ago and everyone had a great time. The service and food was impeccable as usual. I’d highly recommend this restaurant. Absolutely no faults. I just wish I could afford to come here more often...as it’s the best!More

Great location with a great view of the sunset if you are sitting in the conservatory, Staff are very professional and slick, very organised and attentive. Varied menu skewed to fish but lots of . All the fish we had was very fresh and excellently...cooked. The desserts were fantastic. Would recommend coming hereMore

When is a Set Dinner Menu not a set dinner menu? I have eaten in many restaurants all over the world and where the word " Set Menu" is displayed it always includes the vegetables that accompany your main course. Well in the case of...Alec's Restaurant your are expected to pay for the accompaniments to your main course although this is not mentioned on the menu displayed on line or in the restaurant itself. Everything else about the restaurant, the quality of the food, the service and the ambience is excellent but the " cheap trick" of forcing you to pay for accompaniments is bad. Why does this happen? I have never been asked to pay for "ice cream or custard" to accompany my dessert.More

Lovely place and great food. It is expensive for a night out (my bill was £260 for 2 with one not drinking) but I always say you get what you pay for in life Nice clientele and good atmosphere - will go back. Only downside...I would say is we were sat by the walkway and people kept knocking our seats but a nice eveningMore

Had dinner here for our Anniversary. I personally found that the restaurant was very busy to say we are just coming out of a pandemic. Guests were waiting to be seated and then when we were I felt the tables were still very close together....The food was ok. Nothing special. Very overpriced for what it is. I found Smiths much better.More

Have visited this restaurant a few times before and its always been really nice but something has changed, the food was OK but was luke warm, the service was dreadful and had to ask to order our drinks and food, very young, and in-experienced waiting...staff, who were at times rude and very sarcastic, we were charged £3 for extra lime cordial in my drink which is disgusting, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant and its very expensive for what it is, if your looking for a nice fish restaurant I would recommend Smiths over this every-time.More
