Authentic, delicious food of south india. Warm and good service. One of the best curries i've had in the area. Delighted to have discovered Keralam!

I have never ever got up and left, but the dross they served me I cant put into words. I had a curry that must of been left on a hotplate for a month. I had to read the menu again to check it was made with "tender" pieces. What I got was so crunchy and dry I had no... More

I was pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant specialising in Keralite cuisine. I've been a couple of times to Kerala and always wanted to eat Appams again. Its a kind of Crêpe (dosa) in the shape of a Wok and sweeter than a Dosa. The prawns were excellent. It is not a restaurant you go to for the ambience. ..but... More

Food was so so. Decor and ambience of the restaurant left a lot to be desired. Staff need training with people skills or get some decent waitresses. Felt we were an inconvenience, Had to ask for the bill 3 times only to find we had been overcharged. Maybe they were short staffed or has problems but that shouldn't affect customer... More

Really cannot see how this place is getting good reviews. I went about 4-5 years ago and we were talked into having dishes we didn't want and had to question the bill as they tried to overcharge us. I agreed to give it another try as a friend had told us it was good. On arrival it seemed promising but... More

Probably one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had... food was poor... service was appalling and the bill was totally fabricated and hugely overcharged. We left £20 a head which was a more than it was worth.... but definitely will never go back. Worst restaurant I've eaten in for a long long time!

Stunned to find this quiet real Indian food restaurant next door to a run of the mill "Bangladeshi Indian". Southend doesn't know what it's missing, having visited Kerala I can confirm this as the real deal, just don't come here for a chicken tikka massala. I started with the Bhelpoori and had Avial and Tomato Curry for main. Absolutely top... More

Food was totally delicious, authentic southern Indian quisine, freshly cooked. New cauliflower dish was offered to us which we tried and before we even got ours we heard the other tables thanking the staff for such a delicious dish and it was fantastic! Food took a while to come but it was well worth the wait. Fresh!!!
