As stated the menu is basic, but good food and Ok for hotel guests needing a hearty meal. Not a special occasion out type of menu, but more than sufficient for January hotl guests and well cooked, with a reasonable wine list too

Having had superb meals at this restaurant twice before, we returned for my Aunt's birthday. Sadly whilst the roast chicken was excellent, the roast beef was incredibly tough even when rare. The two in our party who had the beef sent it back & the same was returned just more thinly sliced & bright red! It was clearly good quality... More

All our dishes were dreadful. Steak and ale pie covered in raw pastry, inedible fish and soggy chips. My wife was ill the next day too. Awful, avoid!

Mushroom starter was literally just that - a large mushroom cut into pieces with a dollop of garlic mayo and a very small limp salad. Main course cod and chips. Annoyingly they had put a layer of mushy pea sauce under the cod and chips. Wasn't mentioned in the menu and I detest mushy peas, not a good start! Hand... More

Ate here early evening and could not fault. The starters were great, mushrooms and prawn cocktail as were the mains of lamb chops and chicken piri piri served with french fries. We ordered a portion of vegetables which were extras would have been better if the vegetables had been included with the main meal. The puddings were delicious, lots of... More

Me and my husband ate here on a busy Saturday night before seeing a show and we're lucky enough to find a table. The atmosphere was very nice, and the wait times between courses were perfect. The food was lovely, great quality for the price. My husband ordered the Westcliff stack which was huge, and looked great. I had seafood... More

For years The Westcliff Hotel has stod on the top of Westcliff Cliffs, clinging to its Victorian grandeur of past days. But now at last a restarant that enables the diner to sit and enjoy a meal in this commanding position over the Thames Estuary. The night we went the staff were excellent, attentive and a pleasure to be served... More

Meal served from 5:15 pm meant we could have a proper meal before a chamber concert. A good choice of food and it was all very tasty. Smoke salmon starter was impressive, Goats cheese salad and lamb chops well cooked, presented and enjoyed. Restaurant well laid out and did not feel crowded - even when almost full at breakfast time.
