I've been going to this pub for many years .. my friend and I meet there a couple of times a year as she loves their steak and ale pie. This time I took my son and he throughly enjoyed his fish pie while I had tuna steak which was good- though not as good as the chicken Caesar salad... More

Along with three friends we booked a table for a Christmas lunch the week before the special day. All our starters were superb and the roast turkey dinner was the best I've tasted anywhere. Everything was beautifully cooked, the veg, potatoes, turkey were perfect. The plates were hot & food very tasty. The staff were very friendly & helpful. All... More

Pleasant country pub mostly taken up by dining now. We went on Christmas Eve and there was a special menu. I had pigeon to start and my wife had a spinach and ricotta tartlette. The main courses included sea bass and a Filet Rossini.Everything really well cooked, presented and tasty. Christmas pud to finish - very good. Staff friendly and... More

I've eaten many times in the Dog and Crook but this is the first time I've reviewed it. I've always found the staff to be friendly and the food of a good level. Recently though the management has changed and small transformations over the past year has meant the pub is just getting better every month. As usual I had... More

I booked a table for 12 adults and 3 children for a Christmas lunch back at the beginning of September after reading good reviews. We weren't disappointed. All food was pre-ordered at the beginning of December so the service on the day was "spot on". We had a room off to one side just for us. The table was beautifully... More

Today our small walking group went via Brambridge & the Dog & Crook on the way to watch the Mummers perform at Otterbourne. First impression, a warm welcome from the staff. Secondly a good selection of real ales, 'always garners good votes from my corner'. And all the beers were in excellent condition. Now to the food. Most of us... More

Went to Dog and Crook for a festive meal with the girls which was pre-ordered along with a bottle of prosecco as we'd booked before 31st October. Inside was lovely, rustic and homely. Table was decorated lovely for us. When the waiter came over, we asked about our prosecco and were informed that it wasn't on the booking however after... More

Pulled into large car park for Sunday lunch for meal with family, asked if they could find us a table without reservation. We enjoyed a high quality meal at a fair price. Will be heading back again.

After a search of the area, the reviews on this pub made my decision to book a family sunday lunch here. Our two of our group traveled up from Bridport to join us here - right from the beginning the service was poor - in fact one waitress we extremely rude - we asked for water for the table there...
