Booked a table for the four of us for lunch today. Having looked at the website was quite impressed with the Sunday lunch menu. Liked that you could pay an extra £2 for a large plate, especially with hungry children. Meats offered were beef, chicken or pork (with crackling), I asked if the beef would be rare and was told... Our favourite pub for a lazy Sunday afternoon in a rural setting. Bring the kids and the dogs and enjoy the afternoon in a very friendly environment. Go for a walk on the canal and have a pint with the best bangers and mash in the area.

We love going to the Barley Mow in Winchfield. It is located just across from the Basingstoke canal and is a great place to relax and warm up after a long dog walk....or alternatively in the summer, cool down with something cold in the beer garden!! It's a bonus that it's dog friendly too - they even have a treat... More

It was a real shame & very disappointing. After a nice walk along the canal we thought we would get good food here. The special board had 5 things but 2 were not available..not because they had sold just not on the menu, well take them off. Every pub has steak & ale pie again not available. We should have... Thought would try this local with friends for Sunday lunch. Apart from Sunday Roasts, rest of menu pretty boring. No unbuttered fish on menu, little for any vegie's in the area. Overall a disappointment. Seemed expensive for what it was - plus they add a 10% service charge for Bank Holidays, Sundays as well as parties of 6 or more

We came as a group of 8 (4 adults and 4 children). The pub has a nice homely feel. We came on a Sunday and had a combination of roast dinners and children's menu items. The food was very nice and comforting. The waiting staff were very nice but forgot one of our meals and the food itself seemed to... More

Popped by for lunch with parents this week and disappointed with our lunch as having read that dogs were not allowed in conservatory we opted to sit there. Twice the pub's dog came in and interfered with our lunch to which staff member or maybe owner said to dog "you know you are not allowed in here !' Something out... More

We went to this venue after a walk along the Basingstoke Canal. As there were 12 of us we did reserve a table. There was a good choice on the menu and as one of us is gluten intolerant it was good to see a choice of gluten free meals. The restaurant was not busy but they were ready for... More

This place is lovely we come every other month or so, so get the summer and winter menu choices. All the food is great here, good sized portions.. I some delicious soup after a bike ride along the canal, last week. Scrummy! Dogs are allowed in certain areas too, but we were warm enough to sit out with the bikes... More

We headed to the Barley Mow for lunch after a short walk along the canal footpath from Odiham. As soon as we entered we were warmly welcomed by member of staff.Looking at the menu there was a very good choice with most meals around £10 and there was also a specials board. We had a fish finger baguette each which came with...
