We visited for Sunday lunch, opting for roast beef. This came with many vegetables - unusual to get so many but all were very well cooked with a bit of crunch. The beef itself was OK - I like mine very rare but I don't...More

We have been coming here for years, as food, ambiance and service is great. However, we have been put off coming here for a special occasion for a couple of years now because of the decor. This sounds a bit churlish, but the interior is...More

Went in for food during the week so it wasn't too crowded. There was a bar area for people just wanting drinks but we chose the restaurant area, where there were a number of tables to choose from, as we went in to dine. One...More

The pub could do with a lick of paint outside, but do not be put off. There is a good choice of mains at around £13/£14. Our party enjoyed a fish pie, a chicken and ham pie and a Chicken Schnitzel. All were nicely cooked...More

Nice atmosphere, very spacious, but aspects of the food was disappointing. Had my meal just been described as fish pie I would have felt happier. As it was although the prawns were discernible the other fish were not. It was just a fishy tasting goo.meagre...More

Parts of the ancient building of the White Horse date back to the 16th century, and the two large Inglenook open fires bear testament to their heritage with their smoking chambers and their priest hole. These fires which are always alight during the winter months throw their heat into the various bar areas. The locals bar, with its dart board, and cosy village atmosphere retains the typical English pub image. Roaring log fire, the slap of cards on the table during a crib match and the thump of darts in the board, echo quietly in this bar. No background music can be heard, just the agitated discussions of the village elders who frequent this oasis of good beer & conversation. The lounge bar, with its equally large Inglenook can accommodate up to 40 people sitting and many more standing. Used by many people as a dining area, it still retains its “Olde World Charm”. A comfortable Chesterfield and deep farmhouse chairs merely add to the pleasant ambience of this lovely area. The restaurant has been built in a new area that extends towards the lovely pub garden. Seating 90 customers it makes a perfect place to enjoy the excellent food that is always available.
