Afternoon tea here was ok as was expecting a lot more from this establishment. Service was good and afternoon tea was ok but as stated earlier the variety was a little unadventurous for this type of establishment - unsure I would come here again for afternoon tea but lunch menu looked good and there is also a good size event... Came a long way, from Lincolnshire to eat here and soooo disappointed. Four of us at the table, two ordered chicken Kiev and there was virtually no garlic inside, couldn't eat it. Salmon came undercooked, and when we asked for a cooked salmon, that meal came 30 minutes later, when everyone else had finished. Felt we were ignored once we... More

It's an interesting place this. We had the set menu and whilst the food was good the steak really good I felt a little cheated that we couldn't eat the al a carte like other dinners. The service is a bit faulty towers apart from the Romania guy who served us he knew what he was doing and what good... More

First, the good points, it has a lovely atmosphere, great decor and nice tables, staff were friendly and attentive. Food was good, however the macaroni lobster which i had as a starter made me feel a little cheated, the bisque tasted lovely but there was so much macaroni it took me 10 mins to find the quite frankly miniscule 3... For a steak house the steak options are lacking. The meat was fine however the other elements were just not good. Overall it was ok but not worth the price. You would have got about the same quality at a Miller and Carter for a lot less. Disappointing...

Came for a pre valentines dinner. Lovely volute, smoked salmon, lamb and rib eye. All excellently cooked inc the accompanying chips and potatoes for each. Lovely chilean wine and nice to see meantime beer. However no dairy free desserts and more ales would be nice. Polite service. Reasonably priced too.

I've visited this restaurant last Friday quite curious about the famous name. Although it wasn't what I expected I must say that I was pleasantly surprised, The simple food but of high quality and not overpriced as one would expect in this case. My rib eye was perfectly cooked and the tuna of my friend was tenter and juicy. Good... More

Four of us had different starters. I personally chose duck pate which was lovely. All of us very happy with starters. For the main we all decided to go for the t-bone steak each cooked differently and with different sauces. All my colleagues and I agreed their steak was cooked perfectly. I chose the medium rear and it was just... More

Had a dinner last Saturday with my friend. We had calamari and cauliflower soup to start. Calamari perfectly crispy and well seasoned with really nice homemade tartar sauce. Soup was tasty with truffles and good seasoning. For the mains I chose the fillet steak and my friend rump of lamb. Both were perfectly cooked. My fillet incredibly tender and I... More

This is a nice enough restaurant (in parts) but given the name over the door, we expected something substantially better. We have eaten in Marco Pierre White restaurants, including The White Room on-board a P&O cruise ship where we were very impressed as it was an island of excellence in a sea of mediocrity. Wheelers at the Casa however did... More
