The food wasn't hot when it was delivered to our table, the quality was poor and the prices were way too expensive and the staff seemed rather apathetic! We won't be visiting this pub again.

While touring the are in our motorhome and looking for somewhere to have lunch, we spotted this pub- especially as it had a carpark big enough for our motorhome. It was a good choice as it is also dog friendly. The setting is good -...More

Three adult meals ordered, service was friendly and quick. Food itself was fantastic, I had the chicken wrap from the special board, my friends had the scampi and chicken burger. Would recommend it.

Had a great meal. Food was excellent, the menu was varied and something for everyone. Much much better than just normal pub grub! The staff were attentive and helpful. Special mention to Sian who was lovely and very welcoming. Will definitely be returning.

Hi, I guess you do not eat out at pubs very often, it is common practice in pubs both independent and chains to leave a card behind the bar for your tab, not unusual at all. In fact it is a great idea for customers and the establishment. It means less cash floating around which is safer and saves time and makes it more convenient. You have to leave a card if you want a tab, otherwise you could leave without paying!! I am sure you would not do this but there are lots of dishonest people out there unfortunately. It us unlikely that you would be subject to fraud at the pub, as your bank credit card company would know who used it they would refund the money, so it is no more unsafe than anywhere else that you use your card. Just thought I would let you know.

Description
The Royal Oak is a family run historic pub set in the New Forest. It offers an excellent range of real ales and ciders, as well as lovely homemade food and desserts. The pub is near to local attractions such as Beaulieu motor museum, Lepe beach and Exbury gardens. Great for family, the beer garden and childrens play area offers a great resting point for days out.
