We visited for a late Sunday lunch. Both of us had roast as main course which was only average I must say. Meat nice but veggies had been kept warm too long and were a very small portion between 2 of us. However starters and...More

Quite an imposing building as pubs go, but it does not fulfill it's promise. We went on a busy Sunday for lunch, which may or may not be the best pointer of the pubs capabilities. Average in most things, except price which is a little...More

Excellent lively pub with lovely gardens. Excellent Restaurant in its own right completely integrated with the pub. Not cheap but then again you get what you pay for. The food and service have always been of a very high quality since they revamped the property...More

I visited the Marchmont with a friend on Sunday afternoon. We both ordered the mixed meat roast. The beef was gritty, the chicken was bloody and the vegetables were none too appetising either. When I asked the waiter if we could change our food or...More

We had a business dinner and most of the group were satisfied. The main course that I chose, fish and chips was quite tasteless though. Luckily the chocolate bomb and a nice warm latte saved it all for me. I think that the meat dishes...More

Nice building, nice location and a busy pub, but ultimately just OK. From a couple of visits - fish finger sarnie has been the best value for money, along with some of the starters and the chunky chips. Burgers - both beef and chicken seem...More

We have just left after having lunch at the Marchmont Arms. We sat in the garden with our two toddlers. On a table that looked the safest (some are very wobbly) and furthest away from other diners for their peace. It was very hard to...More

Expected a salad to be a salad - not half cooked vegetables and blackened bacon. Not impressed with the menu choice and less still with the food. Decor is, well, frankly hideous. The meal was over priced for what it was.
