This pub/restaurant is my favourite place around. Great food, great atmosphere and lovely staff. It's especially nice in the summer when you can sit outside by the canal! Strongly recommend the pie, burgers or their fantastic roast dinners!

Set in picturesque countryside, this place needs to up its game when it comes to service. Having daughters who have worked in the industry simple things done right with a smile . Happy days. No one checked back to see if we were happy, we waited 20 mins with nearly empty plates not cleared. When I approached the bar to... More

Lovely, welcoming old style pub. Open fire, low beams and many old features. Pub quiz night which was very entertaining. Great menu and enchanting views along the canal. Overall great experience.

The setting is fabulous!!! More then happy to drive 30 miles to get into it from where I am!! Can take your dogs too and they will happily water them! The food is quite good, I find sometimes that it can have a down peak however the setting by the canal more then outweighs any negatives. I find they have... More

My Son and my self visited for Sunday Lunch when our wives went to see strictly. We had booked a table which was in an excellent position in the restaurant. We got a drink and was directed to our table, and in a very short space of time our waitress was taking our order. We could not believe it but... More

I took my Mum there for lunch on a very quiet and quite wet Friday and I chose an expensive Atomic Burger. Good name but not hot. The meat was tasty but the meal was badly let down by the awful tasteless bun. I like my bread, rolls etc to have some texture and flavour, not give the impression of... More

Lovely friendly staff, very helpful and knowledgeable about what they serve.Loved the fact it was such an old building aswell. The food here was delicious and we will definitely be back, especially when the weather gets nicer as it will be really lovely eating outside by the canal.

Very homely and quaint. Great food beautiful view of canal.only negative is small car park. Easy to find although tucked away from main A41 relaxing watching barges going through the lock.only fail is the amount of traffic crossing the swing lock.

Friends just moved to Hemel took us here to try it out. I expect it is nice in the summer near the canal. Our friends had their dog so we sat in the bar at a table that the pub reserved for us. Table was very small for 4 to eat from. Food was very nice and friendly staff. Toilet... More

Lovely pub.. In pretty surroundings. Great food after a winter walk. Sat in front of a cosy fire eating a fantastic steak and chips. :)
