We were first to arrive at noon on a Saturday but probably didn't order until half past but still the first, although it was filling up a little by then. The ladies starters arrived and we told them to carry on when ours hadn't arrived. They finished and I asked the waitress where the other two starters were. As reassuring... More

If, like me, you travel a lot and are fed up with the poor quality & expensive food at motorway services etc then add this place to your list of alternatives. Just a few minutes drive from the A41 the tranquility of the outdoor eating area by the canal is bliss. Our delicious meals were served by happy smiling staff... More

Visiting my 89 year old mother we needed a last minute Sunday lunch. Not only was this one of the best pub roasts we've had (beef) but all your staff were undoubtedly some of the kindest, most efficient and smiliest we've had. Thank you for making my mother feel so special - we'll be back.

A really nice friendly canal-side pub. Which we couldn't fault. It has a good choice of local ales too. We went on a late winter's Saturday night so it wasn't too busy. I'm not sure that you would get served as quickly on a steaming hot Bank Holiday weekend but that wouldn't stop us going back

Visited the Grand Junction Arms with my daughter on Sunday lunchtime. We both had the pumpkin ravioli and it was gorgeous. For pudding we had the ale sticky pudding it was out of this world I said to my daughter this is the best Pudding I have had for ages. All the puddings coming out looked amazing. Lovely staff, good... More

We stopped off here for lunch while we were out on a walk. The pub welcomes walkers and there is a nice little area where you can remove your wellies and walking boots which is a great idea and there is plenty of outdoor seating by the canal. Our lunch was really nice, if you like a decent sandwich this... More

Thank you very much for our meal on Saturday. Even though we were such a big group (12 people), service was second to none and every single member of our group was loved his/her food. Tring is a bit out of our way, we were in the area for a walk in the Chilterns, but your place made us want... More

Me and my wife called in at the Grand Junction Arms while we were out walking along the canal towpath. Although the pub was very busy inside we only waited a minute or so to get a couple of drinks and order one crayfish and prawn and one ham and apple sandwiches from the very friendly and sociable staff. Not... More

This was the second time we visited this friendly pub and enjoyed another delicious meal. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented and the only thing that stopped me giving an excellent score was the rather disappointing white sliced bread that accompanied the soup.
