I stopped for a light lunch with my mother recently at this small cafe opposite the pond at lower Bonchurch. We shired a sandwich made with local crab and beautiful bread and wild Isle of Wight mushrooms on toast. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit. I will definitely go back to try the evening menu.

A lovely lunch with a beautiful setting, overlooking the pond in quaint Bonchurch. The owner was both charming and accommodating. White rarebit, crab linguini and sweets were all superb. Really worth a visit. We will definitely be back, the next time we're back on the Island.

I have been housebound for two months with a broken ankle, so, as it was a beautiful day, we decided to have a drive out and ended up at this delightful little restaurant for lunch. I had previously looked at their website, so I knew it was under new management and I had perused the new menu. We were extremely... More

Stopped in twice during our week in Bonchurch, and we were delighted by the food and service both times. Phil and staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to acquaint us with the offerings. Spiced parsnip soup had a beautifully balanced flavor and velvety texture, the Welsh rarebit on outstanding sourdough bread was scrumptious, and... More

Visited the Pond Cafe for lunch with my husband for the first time and wasn't disappointed. They have a mouthwatering selection on the menu and i wanted to try it all. I had the fish pie and my husband had the beef stroganoff and when our lunch arrived it was pipping hot and delicious. Compliments to Andy the Chef. Couldn't... More

Popped into the cafe for a light lunch and came away disappointed. The people served ahead of us had to send their soup back because it was cold so, when ordering one portion of soup as part of our order, we expressed the hope that ours would be served at a decent temperature. It wasn't and even a second attempt... More

It's a long time since we last visited the Pond Cafe - probably the last time was about seven years ago and seems to have had some ups and downs since then. We heard a new team had taken over and thought we'd give it a try for Saturday lunch and loved it. First impressions are good, with delicious grissini... More
