To start with the bar staff didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing, the pork was really fatty and yorkshires were burnt, the chips were full of salt even on the kids meal to a point my child could not eat, was not very impressed at all.

We are sorry that you were unhappy with your visit,we did have a new member of staff on sunday who is not hugely experienced but is doing their best, secondly we had a lovely piece of pork on with great crackling which everyone else seemed to enjoy and a piece of lamb that one of our regulars said was the nicest... This felt like a traditional 'spit and sawdust' pub, no frills. It is in the middle of Freshwater, you can park at the public car park and walk in a couple of minutes. There is a beer garden. We had the nachos and salsa, guacamole and sour cream sharer, which was fine.

This pub allows you to meet the real islanders. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Just there for a short visit for lunch but really pleasant.

We are a family party of eight, enjoying a weeks holiday on freshwater. We had booked a table for 13:30, but arrived early. This was not a problem, and we greeted with a warm friendly welcome. The food was excellent. Took me back to my child hood " fish finger sandwich" mm

We made an unplanned visit here whilst on holiday in the area. We had two dogs with us, and they were made welcome in the bar area. The inside looks slightly dated, it's not posh, and initially looks unwelcoming, but actually the staff were friendly and it's really good value for money. We each had a carvery and it was... More

Small, local pub in the centre of Freshwater. Stopped here for drinks. It has a lovely open fire at the centre of the pub. The bar is well stocked with many local ales. Ideal for families as it has lots of games. Didn't eat here as we were too early but the menu looked like it had a good selection... More

I have been trying to find out who wrote this scathing and basically untrue review,I am sure that people reading this will be able to see from all our other carvery reviews, pretty much without exception, that we offer a fabulous carvery and most of our customers come back for it repeatedly.I can only assume that this was done spitefully and...
