We arrived last minute on bank holiday Monday and received a very warm welcome. This is a very pleasant pub (free house) with a good selection of beers. The staff were extremely friendly and the meals were good, with adequate portions. Desserts were great. Highly recommended.

Fabulous service here. Lovely food, great menu. Couldn't fault it. Very welcoming. Each item on the Sunday roast was cooked to perfection.

Went if for Sunday roast which at £10.50 which is not cheap, food arrived fairly prompt but measily portions, tiny cube of stuffing,Yorkshire pud like cardboard, and chicken dry. When asked if meal was ok I just said the chicken was dry and offered a free coffee!! Gents toilets were disgusting holes in the ceiling and light fittings hanging down!... More

When reading a review or recomendation for a place to eat, it is a sheer joy to be pleasantly surprised when it is as good an experience as you had hoped for, even though, through experience, you approach with gritted teeth expecting the worst. On entering the pub you are pleasantly greeted and then have a genuine sense that the... More

A beautiful old pub with lots of character & charm. A varied, reasonable menu ranging from snacks to larger plates. Delicious desserts too. The local cider was recommended by two friends.

Just moved to village and thought we would try the pub for dinner, didn't realise Thursday night is Carvey night so was really busy, managed to fit us in though. We didn't opt for the Carvey but from the menu instead, our party had steak, steak pudding, lasagne and a soup. Everyone said their meals were very nice and plentiful,... More
