Enjoyed a lovely lunch here today with my Mrs & son. The pub is set in beautiful surroundings about 2 miles outside Tonbridge. We received a warm welcome and the offer to put the drinks on the tab was most appreciated. Food tasted great and the portions were generous too. Friendly staff as well. The bill was very reasonable but... More

A group of us went out to celebrate a friend's birthday. The pub is in a small hamlet and tucked away which adds to the charm of the place. The food choices were varied and well presented and we stuck to the Dinner menu. The beers were largely local ones (Kent and Sussex) and the service was both friendly and... More

Indulged in both starter and main course which were excellent and came very quickly brought by friendly lady who was attentive and helpful. Proper country pub... More

We visited the pub as a large group after having found it in the CAMRA guide. Staff were not welcoming and incredibly slow. We were made aware that there were other large groups so we had to place our order quickly. Being a Sunday, all that was on offer were roasts. All of the roasts were inedible if I'm honest.... More

wow, that's a slap in the face ! Normally I leave critiques alone for fear of creating a slanging match: and in this case I agree that we did not get it right; but I must pick you up on a couple of things: it is incorrect to say that all that was on offer was roasts, indeed all, I... More

Been here a couple of times and can't fault the food. Went on a weekday and had pork with cracking - really nice and on a Sunday and had the lunch - good portion.

Is often overhyped in this part of the country in my experience, but this place was really good and value for money. The ambience, service and quality were hard to fault. The staff were very attentive and friendly and all in all the lunch was a great success. Highly recommended.

Another great Sunday lunch and apres walk drink. The landlord John and his chief Richard are always welcoming and entertaining - and manager Helen always accommodating - great local atmosphere, good food and sensible prices. Thanks guys.
