Living nearby I eat in the King William regularly and I think I’ve taken the good food and service for granted. Darren and Tracy run a tight ship and it pays off. Tracy handles front of house and Darren is often the chef and he cooks a great steak. So why review now? Last night I chose both mains and... More

First visit to this pub/restaurant and would recommend it to anybody. Excellent food, plenty to choose from and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend the mushrooms for a starter! They are so good! Will be going here again soon.

We popped in mid afternoon to have a light lunch. This was my first visit to the pub although my guests had been before, not sure why they had not taken me there prior to today! We only wanted a light lunch so my wife had the chilli chicken wraps and my daughter in law and I shared the spicy... More

A disappointing lunch in a usually-reliable pub. The service was very slow and, even though we were among the first diners to order, we waited a long time for our food. The problem seemed to be the fish on the specials board one of which apparently was taking longer to cook than anticipated. When it finally arrived the dishes the... More

My partner and a couple of ours joined me at this pub for a nice relaxing meal and all left with a smile on our faces and a promise we shall surely return. Service was great and smile on faces made us feel welcome with food which made us feel delighted we chose to come here. We shall be back... More

My son and I visited the place for lunch. We both had the large fish and chips. The fish had been cooked in oil that had been burn and needed renewing. I love battered fish but very few place get the batter right, unless it is a specialist fish and chip shop Oil for cooking a good battered fish should... More

7pm weekday. Meal for 3. The pub was quite but not empty, no musak, no TV just a pleasant atmosphere. Good but limited vegetarian option but the rest of the food was great. it was the best steak and ale pie I have ever had - even better than the Church Inn at Birtle in Bury and that is saying... Dropped in on a Saturday teatime , most the tables were reserved for the evening but we were given a table . They staff were really friendly and the food was delicious . What a great place we will certainly be eating here again , I'd love to see the place in summer. We left about 7.30 just as the... More

We dined here yesterday as a family of four for Sunday lunch. The pub is decorated to a high standard and we felt at home as soon as we walked in. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. My children had the fish and chips with beans and the cheeseburger with mash and peas. The children's meals were fresh... More

Previously had good experience. Really looked forward to this afternoons visit, however, was bitterly disappointed with the standard of the food. Chili was watery and was warmish in some parts and barely warm in others. The taste was not to the standard of my previous visit. Did eat it, but as my dad used to say you can eat owt when... More
