Walked To Darwen tower and parked at the pub. Returned wet and gold to a lovely walk fire. Dogs welcome. Enjoyed a real good home cooked meal and pint. Very reasonable price. Loved the lamb shank it was delicious. Will return again very enjoyable.

I go for walks with my dog on darwen moors regularly and it is always good to have a pub that welcomes dogs and have a nice warm fire when needed and good food and drink available

We stumbled upon this pub after a lovely long walk. We were in the woods opposite when we came across a group who said they had been all over the woods trying to find the pub. An elderly couple overheard and said it was just at the top of the hill so we decided to head up too. Glad we... More

When I read that steak night was under £20 for 2 steak dinners and a bottle of wine I wonder if i'd misread and that was per person. But no, it's for two, i'm now wondering why i've ever gone to the trouble of buying steak and cooking it. The steak was perfectly cooked, mushrooms were delicious, chips while not... More

Not dined here in a while but there is always good cask ale available. Always busy with people eating but also a very popular bar for those walking off the moors. Plenty of parking too

Steak night not to be missed. Excellent value @ £19. Never had a disappointing meal here on any day or night. Suggest booking though on Wednesdays. Other nights should be ok. Its a fairly small pub though so might be worth checking. Dogs are welcome here too, which may not suit everyone. Great outdoor patio on sunny days

Lovely little dog friendly pub st the foot of the West Lancashire Moors. Easy access to Tockholes woods and Jubilee tower. Stopped after a walk in the woods. Good beer and lovely food. Well worth a visit.
