We were passing through Knaresborough and I had looked this place up as somewhere to call in to for a brunch. I had emailed them the day before and they had responded promptly with advice on serving times and even where to park. The setting...More

We called in here after a walk along the river. We had a pram and a dog but both are welcome and can even do inside if there is a shower. Hot drinks were all enjoyed and each came with a biscuit which was nice....More

Having a winter's day out in Knaresborough, we saw the storm clouds coming and wanted a 'bolt hole' for lunch - the 'Marigold' fitted the bill. A very pleasant young lady directed us towards the dining room, annexed from the coffee shop/kitchen area and said...More

Stopped off during a family walk by the river on a lovely Sunday afternoon after Christmas. As expected Waterside was really busy but we managed to get a great table right by the river with views across to the viaduct and Mother Shipton's Cave walk....More

£8 for the beef stew and dumplings. Maybe a bit more salt would have made it more tasty. But it was very nice and very filling with big chunks of beef and 2 dumplings. Maybe a jug of gravy would have been nice to pour...More

Stopped in for coffee and cake. I chose a mocha and a piece of Victoria sponge cake, my wife had a cappuccino and buttered tea cake. We had tasters of each others. Good mocha, not too sickly. I chose a regular but most places it...More

It was my first time in Knaresborough and after visiting the church we walked down to the river to Marigold to find an afternoon cuppa. Staff here were friendly and welcoming, our order came quickly and with a smile. We sat by the window, warmed...More

Had Poached eggs with bacon on a slice of toast. It was horrendous. The eggs were solid, the bacon was tough and cold. We had to send 3 back. The service was very poor, I won’t be going back there. So very disappointed

I'm nothing to do with the running of the place but they did have plenty of young staff working there so I guess there is a turn over and weekends will be their busiest time so give them a ring and give it a try. Good luck.
