I broke my journey home, from a trip to Newcastle, at Monk Fryston, staying at the superb Barn Guest House. It was raining and I was dying for a pint and the Crown Inn was the closest watering hole. It was pure serendipity; it was...More

Called in here on the off-chance they were serving food (3pm on a Monday afternoon). They certainly were and what great food it was! The haddock fillet sandwich was lovely and the chips are the best, authentic pub chips I've had in years.

Have just had an excellent lunch at this delightful pub. There is a varied menu plus some specials giving plenty of choice. We chose the 'half' portion of steak and ale pie so that we could leave room for a dessert. A wise choice! This...More

Popped in with the mother on the way home from Selby, ordered garlic mushrooms and whitebait to share, came quite quickly and didn't disappoint! Slightly longer for the main to come (thankfully!) ordered steak pie off the lighter lunch menu which was just the right...More

Despite living locally this was our first visit to The Crown. We visited with friends for our evening meal and we weren't disappointed. A lovely village pub with friendly staff. There was a short wait for the food but only because it is all fresh...More

We found this pub thanks to the TA community and we weren't disappointed! Lovely little village setting and blessed by the setting sun. The place was welcoming and the staff very friendly. It started with an Ilkley Pale Ale and a Pinot, just the job....More

A little while since we have eaten here, but it's still consistently good for food. The word has obviously got around as all tables were full. So book to avoid disappointment as they say. The bar area was fairly busy so a reasonable atmosphere. Hannah...More

We had a delious 3 course lunch. The service was excellent and the food was served hot and delicious. The wines were the right temperature and we ended the meal with great coffees. We will certainly be visiting The Crown many times in the future....More

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here on Saturday night. We have been before, and although good in the past it was really outstanding on Saturday. There is a newly refurbished dining area, and a slightly separated bar area, all creating a lovely atmosphere, with also plenty...More

Description
Originally a busy coaching inn dating back to the 1600s, The Crown Inn is a warm and welcoming pub restaurant in the picturesque village of Monk Fryston. The Crown is under new management and our kitchen has recently undergone a complete refurbishment, allowing us to create a brand new menu of traditional pub classics and modern English dishes, freshly prepared using only the best locally sourced ingredients, with something for all tastes, and of course all served with great Yorkshire hospitality. Our menus change regularly taking advantage of seasonal produce, and, of course, our friendly service comes at no extra charge. At the bar you'll find a selection of regularly changing hand-pulled ales and the wine list offers something for everyone's taste! Whether you're here to enjoy a three course meal, a light bite for lunch or just an evening drink with friends, visiting us is always a great experience. "We look forward to welcoming you to The Crown Inn." Andrew Melhuish, Chef Proprietor.
