Firstly what a fantastic looking place really looked good with the christmas decor staff were helpful. The majority of the food was good but the parmo was one of the worst i have ever tasted, no bechamel sauce and the chicken had been beaten to within a millimetre of its life. For the price it was shocking this was returned... More

Visited today with family. Staff were attentive & helpful especially with my disabled mum who uses a wheelchair. Sunday lunch was one of the best I've had in a very long time, absolutely delicious. Great pub with a lovely ambience, helpful staff & superb food. Thoroughly recommend.

Had a lovely dinner today , mash and veg and gravy were lovely. We were disappointed in the lack of freshness of the meat , it seemed more microwaved than freshly sliced off a joint. Still would go back as meal was worth the drive.

A large expanse of a pub with friendly and attentive service Menu broad with large portions but sacrificing taste. Everything very well cooked but not memorable. Cheese board looked fantastic but contained tasteless, industrial cheeses, a missed opportunity with so much great local cheese. The bill was high for the quality and we won't return.

This place does the best Sunday dinner around. Their creamy leeks are unreal. They will also bring you out more veg if you want. Value for money. The older man behind the bar is very friendly and a little quirky in a good way.

We tried this pub/restaurant whilst on a three day visit to Welbury. The food was excellent with plenty of choice. The pub itself was very nice and staff friendly and helpful. We ended up having three evening meals there during our stay. Would definitely recommend.

Attended my birthday bash last night, there were 22 people in the party, although we ordered food in advance, the food was served all together, there were numerous different dishes, everyone commented how good it was, together with the ever helpful service by those serving the meals, made for an excellent night. Thank you so much to the chef(s)and waitresses... More

We chose the shorthorn to celebrate my daughters GCSE results on the 25th of August and as always we throughly enjoyed it! It was busier than usual with only 2 staff on, which Iv got to say worked hard all night and coped extremely well! Meals were cooked to perfection and the service was fab! I don't mind waiting a...
