We all really enjoyed our visit to the Treehouse . The setting is magical and the service and food were superb. The lunch menu had something for everybody. There were about six choices of each course on the set menu .The mains were a couple of fish dishes, chicken, pork, beef and vegetarian. Our favourites were the seafood linguine and the Northumberland... More

We visited whilst on holiday and were amazed by the setting. The treehouse is incredibly beautiful and a fantastic setting for a meal. Unfortunately the food was really bland and the menu choices were dull. Both starters lacked seasoning. Avoid the crab chowder - it's a lukewarm pool of cream with a few flakes of crab floating in it. Mains... More

Yes, I know, it is gimmicky, but good gimmicky. It is enchanting to walk up to a tree house to eat. The food and the service are all very good well presented, great local suppliers and the menu is really well executed. Once inside it is all fairy lights, tree and cosy to boot. A really special place to come... More

We stopped here for a quick snack and a hot drink after walking around the nearby castle. The setting is fantastic. A real fantasy building with nice little details added such as the small windows here and there and the fairy lights leading up the ramp to the treehouse. The rope bridges also add to the feel of the place.... More

I noticed a few recent negative reviews for this restaurant but I have to say that we didn't experience any problems. Yes the chairs might not be the most ergonomically friendly due to being made of lumps of tree but surely that's the point of having lunch in a treehouse? Although the lunch menu was not extensive the food was... More

Definitely recommend this place for a great, unique setting for a meal. Took my mum for her birthday. Menu was fantastic, the steak was cooked to perfection! The service was good too!

The day before my dinner, I went to this place to inform them that I was gluten free and dairy free. When I arrived, I was given a menu that clearly said gluten free and dairy free. I ordered from this menu. My meal was not dairy free. I was first told that it was an "honest mistake". The manager... More

Having been annual visitors to the Treehouse Restaurant since it first opened, we were really disappointed by this year's experience. The food took over 45 minutes to arrive and was cold, undercooked and very unappetising. They offered to replace my cod, but after waiting for another half hour, by which time my companions had all finished their main courses, I... More

After watching the treehouse on a certain TV program I decided to book for lunch as it looked out of this world. As I pulled up the views certainly didn't disappoint however the food was a completely different story. Soup lacked flavour and seasoning and the main was slightly warm at best. For the prices they charge I was expecting... More

Description
The Treehouse is one of the most magical and unique restaurants to be found anywhere in the world. It’s high up in the treetops, with a roaring log fire in the centre of the room and trees growing through the floor. Most importantly, the locally-inspired food is delicious. Always featuring local fish and seafood, meats from Northumberland’s farmlands and other regional specialities, the Treehouse Restaurant menus highlight local quality, taste and change throughout the seasons. There’s a great wine list, a good range of beers and regular live music. For a family dining experience that you’ll all enjoy, a great night out with friends or a romantic dinner for two, there’s nowhere quite like it. We always recommend booking ahead for lunch or dinner.
