We have recently spent a week on Holy Island, amazing place. As we were self catering we found ourselves booking into The Ship Inn nightly for our main meal. The food was delicious, presentation of food fantastic, taste was sublime and my husband was very pleased with the volume of food that you got on your plate. The staff at... More

Great atmosphere, excellent service, great food and a superb selection of ales, wines etc. All at a competitive price! I recommend Holy island 'Blessed Bitter' ale, with the steak and ale pie👍. Book in advance, as it is really popular!

Rather than buy presents, my husband and I decided on a few days on Lindisfarne for our Christmas present. We were going to go to The Manor, but the reviews were not good, and the prices have increased somewhat. So we looked around a found The Ship. What a little gem. The room was very comfortable (room 3), clean and... More

Visited Holy Island and decided to call here for evening meal before heading back. Had read good reviews on TA so thought we would give it a try, we were not disappointed. The pub is quite oldy worldly inside but we were greeted by the barman warmly and offered a table in the bar area as the restaurant area was... More

We had several meals at The Ship Inn, and also a 'cheeseboard supper' with red wine when we didn't want a full meal; the staff are friendly, welcoming with nothing being too much trouble. My husband has never liked black pudding, but the Stornoway Black Pudding converted him, so much so that we brought some home with us! The langoustines... More

We made a reservation by email and were given a warm welcome on arrival. We ate in the dining room which is atmospheric and cosy. The warm service continued throughout our visit, from all staff. We started with huge, well presented G&Ts. We ate black pudding and haggis starter, steak and fish and chip mains. All of the food was... More

We didn't get a warm welcome . The food looked good but expensive so we didn't eat here . Had a coffee and a tea you could taste the chlorine in the water we've had better.

Nothing better than a good meal after a day exploring this wonderful island. It is usually busy so be sure to book. I had the crab which was fresh and delightful. My daughter had the langoustines which were a real treat! Well cooked, well presented and tasted just as good as it looked. Friendly helpful staff and a good selection... More
