We went to this cafe on Saturday... it was not busy but I had to signal someone to get our order. The staff were just chatting and there were loads of tables that needed clearing. I ordered chunky vegetable soup (as it was on the...More

I do hope the owner reads these comments and takes them into consideration in order to improve the establishment because there is serious potential. So far they are a long way off. We should have turned away when we saw the 3/5 hygiene rating on...More

I visited this cafe for lunch. When I arrived there was only about 3 or 4 tables of people in the cafe . Therefore even though it was basically empty it took 20 minutes for a member of staff to ask for our order. All...More

I remember visiting the frog cafe (nicknamed because of the frog bin that used to sit outside the shop) as a child many years ago and was excited to revisit with my Mum on the 11th of November. Unfortunately, however, the cafe did not live...More

What a lovely place with a real log fire to warm up while having a very good lunch. Have eaten in many excusive restaurants with less favourable experience than in this lovely, centuries-old cafe. Well done, will visit again!

I visited for lunch on the 17.10.17. The food was well prepared and well presented. The atmosphere was very friendly and the staff were very welcoming. I look forward to my next visit.

We had an hour to spend between Festival events so chose this cafe. I wish we hadn't! The tea itself was OK and the hot chocolate passable (but not brilliant). However, the single (large) scone was doughy and not at all pleasant to eat. There...More

We choose this cafe on recommendation by my sister who had used it many years ago and like it. We had hardly settled ourselves down before the waitress was on us like a rash, we asked her to give us a couple of minutes, anyway...More

Well this was my third visit in a few weeks and by far the worse. Coffee tasted stale and could have been served a little warmer. My club sandwich took ages to arrive from the kitchen and although large was somehow unappealing with a token...More
