This is another little gem of Somerton. Freshly cooked food with the addition of some gluten free cake and scones!!! The staff will bend over backwards to help. The chef also makes wine which can be sampled on the premises, they are delightful! I would highly recommend.

First time in Somerton, passing through the ancient county capital en route to the Quantock hills. Buttercross tea room is a lovely, unpretentious place with good, honest fresh local food and friendly service. I thought I'd try something appropriate for Somerset, so went for the savoury afternoon tea - warm crumbly cheese scones, local cheddar cheese and a freshly homemade... More

This is a good, traditional tea room, serving traditional tea room type of things. Tables inside, plus additional tables out in the market square add to the atmosphere. Well worth a try if you need a cup of tea and a bun when you're in Somerton.

Having been stuck indoors for over a week without seeing a soul except my husband I had "Cabin Fever" so talked him into going out for a Saturday Drive. Going through Somerton we saw the tables and chairs outside a Tea Rooms in the Square, so we decided to stop and have a tea/coffee. There was a very chilly breeze... More

Somerton is one of the prettiest villages. Having gone for a walk around Somerton we wanted to get a cup of tea and decided to have a cream tea. The staff were very nice and we sat outside. We had the Most delicious scones with equally delicious strawberry jam and the best clotted cream. The tea was Taylor's Yorkshire tea... More

We had afternoon tea here a little while back. The staff were excellent, nothing too much trouble. As the weather was lovely we had our tea outside. I went in to place my order and was overcome with the wonderful smell of fresh baked scones. I couldn't resist buying some. A very busy little cafe and I am not surprised.... More

Stopped off on a long distance cycle ride from Milton Keynes to Torquay. They were just opening up as I arrived but were friendly and chatty. Sat outside in the sunshine with a full English breakfast and mug of coffee. Food was excellent, with a special mention for the local sausage!. Price was very reasonable. Excellent little cafe in a... More

The caramel milkshake with a shot of coffee is to die for, and staff so accommodating and friendly. Situated in the village square you can sit in the sunshine and people watch for hours. Highly recommended
