Great gardens, Dog friendly, child friendly, lots of little outside ‘tuck-a ways’ to sit and eat at. The food is a touch expensive but worth the money. It’s a very busy place with lots of returning customers. A must visit place if you are in the area.

I really want to like this place more. We've visited here many many times over many years at different times of the year. It's set in a perfect location with miles of walks passing it and so of course can be quite busy. There is ample parking but on a bank holiday- it's rammed. I would park in Alton or... More

Popped in for food and drink before a walk by the river. The food was lovely and all freshly prepared. I enjoyed my hot chocolate but really wanted a coffee. When I ordered a decaf latte I was told it would be made with instant decaf coffee. Really?? Most places grind decaf coffee beans these days and for the prices... More

This s a delight and a mix between a restaurant and tea rooms. Generally from what we noticed the restaurant is inside with the tea room outside in the back garden. It was originally a gatehouse to the estate and full g character. In the garden there is water feature, lovely plans and lovely garden furniture. The highlight was the... More

The Ramblers Retreat is a special place. The gardens are full of wild birds and its a super place to relax with a cuppa or snack and see how many varieties of birds you can identify and listen to the peaceful sound of running water. There is a cosy restaurant and well cooked local food available. A great place for... More

After a heavy night session, decided to partake in some Dimmingsdale rambling to blow away the cobwebs. Being the clever sausage that I am I decided to go rogue and ignore the maps. Unfortunately my internal compass is very poor which resulted in a half hour detour up a barren hill and concluding with a desperate scramble under some barbed... More
