Stopped for a drink after a hectic day at Alton Towers. Was worried as had 5 kids ranging from 5 years to 9 months but the landlord was so welcoming and helpful. The place is more like a house than a pub with lots of nice areas to relax in away from the main bar. Didn't stop for food but... More

This pub is owned and run by the community which Has been refurbished to a nice standard. A range of 3 ales were served in good condition although the range was very uninspiring with so many new small breweries nearby it would be nice to see these on the bar, part of the pub is a coffee shop ,on our Saturday... After a long day of meetings this was an ideal retreat. Very helpful reception who made check in really easy The room was great with a very comfortable bed. Delicious food and a real good pint of perfectly served beer. Breakfast was fantastic with locally produced sausages. Great stay and would highly recommend this place ! Mark T

Visited the Hart on several occasions over summer\autumn so thought it's about time I gave it a review. The Hart is a pub run by the community with a mixture of volunteers and paid staff running things. The bar stocks several interesting beers and ales not just your usual Carling, John Smith's etc. Staff are friendly and helpful and there... More

Staying locally so tried this place on a Monday evening. Chose this pub because it allowed well-behaved dogs in the bar and pool room only (not main restaurant) which suited us fine. I had the trio of pies (was offered this only because they had run out of my first choice 'pie of the day' which looked great on other... More

Booked an evening meal for five of us .Everything first class .If you have young children with you this is the place to go in Alton - we were given a quiet area away from the main bar which was great .During our stay in Alton we tried other restaurants and the White Hart was the best -would most certainly... We visited here after booking. When we arrived I said we had a booking, the barman asked us to choose a table, so really, we didn't have to book at all, because nothing had been done to reserve a table. I had sirloin which had no taste and lots of fat, husband had trio of pies, which he said was... More

Although not a 5 star restaurant with gourmet food but has great charm and enthusiasm from the people who worked there from the Bar to the Kitchen and everything in between. We went there to join some friends for a Sunday Lunch but they don't do a Sunday lunch but the Chef volunteered to cook anything off the menu for... More

This B&B was the perfect stop-over for our two day trip to Alton Towers. The room was perfect, with a nice view of the villages main high street. It was comfortable and cosy. The breakfast laid on the next day was brilliant, a full English to start any day! The nicest touch came when I stupidly left my MacBook behind.... More
