Great place to go for a decent beer and good pub food (especially the burgers)! Being on the side of the canal adds to the charm.

We were meandering along on the canal network and moored up just above the pub. Mainly set aside for dining, there was still a very pretty snug bar which was lovely. We settled for cod and chips, the usual pub style food and were more than happy with the quality, amount and price. Not the best I've ever had but... More

Arrived early for lunch. I had a large mixed grill and the wife and chicken salad. I asked for medium and everything was borderline burnt especially the black pudding. My wife's salad came without any dressing as the chef forgot. The large table next to us also appeared to be unhappy with their food as we were leaving. Not good... More

Cannot believe this is the same place we visited last summer. One of the worst dining out experiences ever. Appalling almost non existent service on a very quiet Sunday afternoon. Had to ask someone to come and take our orders despite being in the place for a good twenty minutes. A very sullen looking and disinterested female arrived. Our first... More

Went for a meal with friends, the service was exceptional. The food was very tasty and very enjoyable. The room was a bit on the cold side, but it is by the canal side and it was a cold evening. This didn't spoil the visit and would visit again.

Was very pleased with the extensive menu, was very busy for a Monday lunch but could not fault our excellent, polite and attentive waitress. Was so relieved to find somewhere to eat on a rainy Monday lunchtime that is dog friendly. Brie, cranberry and bacon melt was delicious for how cheap the lunch menu is. Would definitely recommend and will... More

Choose to eat here with a group of friends. Good portion sizes and the food was good. It's just nice pub food in my opinion, there's nothing special about it, but it's good at what it does.

We went for Christmas lunch and it was a huge disappointment. No effort made on the tables. Dowdy and plain. The starter and pudding were ok but I couldn't eat my turkey. It tasted like it was out of a packet and the stuffing was inedible too. Vile. The veggies were first class so a good job they gave you... More
