I love this place. I’ve changed from Le Raj to here and what a great decision that was. The food is excellent and the service is professional and organised.

Haven’t been to the restaurant so can’t comment on that but the takeaway is absolutely superb. Worked our way through the menu and nothing has disappointed. Anyone lucky enough to be familiar with the Michelin starred “Gymkhana” in Mayfair will be excited to know that...the two proprietors are former head chefs there. Despite high expectations the food really doesn’t disappoint, it’s like having top end Indian find dining at home. Delivery covers a large area and isn’t cheap but is well worth it. Definitely not your average suburban hight street restaurant and deserving of its prestigious “Bib Gourmand” status in the Michelin Guide.More

We’re a foodie Indian family with a really good knowledge of food, including high-end Indian. This is no ordinary food, it’s excellent. Highly recommend. The tandoori prawns were amazing, the biriyani delightful. Thank you!

We love the food at Dastaan and have eaten in the restaurant many times - the food is delicious and it’s easily the best Indian restaurant for many, many miles around. So we decided to try a takeaway. Whilst the dishes we had were very...good ( and very large portions ) all four of us thought the food was not quite up to the standard of eating in. A couple of our dishes relied too much on heat and less on the subtle flavours we associate with Dastaan. Nevertheless - very enjoyable.More

Ordered from Dastaan after my restaurant booking for Gymkhana and Benares failed due to Covid. I was able to pre-order the food a couple of days earlier using their website which was great as it was stressful organising treats for the Mrs' 40th bday! I...ordered the Dahi puri, samosa chat, lamb rogan josh, methi chicken, gulab jamun and Pistachio kulfi. All the food was fantastic...but especially the lamb rogan josh - best I've ever had and the Dahi puri. My Mrs absolutely loved it! A romantic meal at home to cheer her up for a covid birthday...this food is on par with any Indian Michelin and I have dined at most of them (Benares, Veeraswamy, Chutney Mary etc)..you won't be disappointed!More

Dastaan is the single greatest Indian restaurant in south east England. They are probably the best in the country, but my lack of experience further afield prevents me from saying so. This food is at least Michelin quality, at high street prices. Starter highlights include...the chaat, chicken chops, chicken lollipops and beetroot tiki. For mains the chicken chettinad is perhaps the finest Indian main I have found in a restaurant. Pork cheek vindaloo is exceptional. Recent addition of goat keema to the menu is an absolute winner - you won’t find better anywhere. An absolute gem of a restaurant in the most unassuming of locations. If you miss out you will regret it. Well worth going out of your way, even an hour or two.More

We haven’t had the chance to eat at Dastaan in person yet but have been lucky enough to get a delivery during lockdown. If you have not tried them yet - do not hesitate! You won’t regret it :) Pork vindaloo is a top favourite,...along with the succulent aubergine masala. The list goes on and it is hard to pick the best dish ! The food came on time and still hot despite the long distance ( we live in Twickenham!) I cannot recommend Dastaan highly enough. Thank you to Sanjay and team Dastaan for the amazing food.More

For done reason I expected my curry to be a bit more spicy, but then again, it was still scrumptious and flavourful. Great place with hearty staff.

Had a really fabulous dinner with my niece tonight. Sanjay was v knowledgable about the dishes and the recommendations was fantastic. We both enjoyed everything we ordered. The chicken popcorn was outstanding as it was crispy and succulent. OMG the pork cheeks vindaloo was amazing....Never had pork cheeks in any Indian restaurant before and a truly recommended main course to be had. The service were v good and attentive although they were v busy. Will definitely come back and Sanjay really made us feel so comfortable and entertaining. Hopefully he’ll not forget us. 👍🏼😂😂More
