We had a works function held in the garden. Lovely pub in the middle of country lanes in Farnham. Stunning pub, service was excellent, food was great. Would definitely recommend it, if you can find it again.

I have to agree with my son , the food was tasteless, serving food on a piece of wood does not improve the flavour. I noticed the pub was advertising for a chef, this could explain the poor lunch we had, 1st and only visit, sorry...More

I am sorry you and your son where not happy with your visit to our lovely pub. Since investigating this complaint, I find that your son is a chef, and as a chef myself, I do think that he should have dealt with this complaint...More

Uncooked ham. No flavour and we had to actually find staff to tell them. Did they come and replace the food, did they discount it? No. Avoid. So many great places around and our meal for 4 ended up with me with stomach ache after...More

We are so disappointed and upset to read this report, I wish you had demanded to speak to the management/owners so that we could have dealt with this disturbing report at the time, as we pride ourselves in good food and helpful staff. We are...More

We went as a group, mainly family. The attitude of the manager was very poor. Seems we were an inconvenience to actually serve us! Other bar staff were helpful and friendly. Also there was hardly any choice when it came to spirits. One vodka and...More

Please, if someone is going to be so damming they should ask to see the owners as we live on site, we do not have a manager, and would have definitely wanted to correct any complaints. We have our house Vodka and Grey Goose and...More

Would have never have found this gorgeous old pub had a friend who lives closeby not suggested it. Tucked away down a single driveway in the middle of a heavily wooded residential area, The Bat & Ball is the quintessential English pub. We sat outside...More

With family over from Australia I couldn't have found a better spot to make them not want to return home. The Roast beef was yummy but the seabream on samphire even better. My niece has severe nut and seed allergy and my sister was super...More

The three of us had lovely food and drink, great burger, fantastic spicy salmon salad and a fairly reasonable ribeye, maybe over priced? Pressecco came in individual bottles but surprisingly pretty good. The staff seemed happy enough and bearing in mind they only serve food...More

The pub has a lovely garden and was great on a summers afternoon. Beer was varied and also good. Food was very hit and miss, they ran out of burgers and a bird seed covered avocado was no replacement! Fish was very oily, kids food...More

What a lovely pub and restaurant hidden away in Farnham! The service is excellent - we brought 5 children on a very sunny Saturday - and they all enjoyed the play area outside. The food was absolutely superb.

Description
Your first time here you might find us a little difficult to find as the pub is down an un-adopted lane in the bottom of a valley, backing on to the Bourne stream. "The Bat" is a traditional country/village pub retaining the charm and atmosphere of what a pub should be. An open fire, panelled walls, nooks and crannies, hops hanging from the old oak beams, cricketing memorabilia and six shining brass hand pumps for ale. Outside there is a covered patio area with grape vines overhead and a large garden with flower borders, a children’s play structure and plenty of seating. There is also a large car park.We offer a good and wholesome selection of light snacks, main meals and a mouth watering selection of homemade puddings and desserts. All our food is cooked and prepared in house by our team.Crossing the generations ,the pub is a meeting place for all and you will be sure of a genuine welcome
