Having read some of the other reviews we were not sure about trying this pub to watch the rugby. We had not been since Dean and Paul left last December. Well so glad we did. Got a table within 5 minutes ( the place was packed when we arrived). Bar service very fast and professional. I would say give it... More

Ordered at bar didn't have half the stuff on the menu due to "menu change" ordered rump steak took me 10 mins to cut into it asked for it med-rare and got it well done not a nice bit of steak chips where swimming with Grease couldn't even eat them! Chefs didn't look like they could be bothered slumped over... More

Not wanting to cook and passing a pub offering a Sunday carvery, we were tempted in.We were glad that we did. The carvery offered a choice of beef, gammon and turkey. Portions proved to be generous with stuffing and Yorkshire pudding added. There was a good range of vegetables, all piping hot. The carver was very pleasant as were the... More

Don't know who's in charge of the bar staff rota here but you'd think they'd put more than two on for a Friday at 5 o clock. This is the second week people have walked away because they can't get served - come on guys sort it out !!!!!

Went for lunch. Menu is large with many, many options, it would be a very fussy eater who could not find something they liked. The portion sizes were generous and the main course prices very low. Quality was ok, and it seemed very good value. Service was friendly and prompt. Would definitely go again, though do not consider this a... More

Lovely food and nice strong cocktails, however a very very rude young dark haired waitress that literally threw our food and condiments at us and had bad attitude. Worst service seen at this pub in years, bring back Paul the old owners they would never of allowed this poor customer service. Absolutely disgusted by the disgraceful display.

Went for lunch today and found all was ok. The food is not top quality, but it's a marston doing a 2 course lunch for £4.75, so it's what you would expect for that price. Seemed quite busy to me, so still proving popular

I have always found the staff friendly and helpfull, mind you I am a regular patron of the pub so expect the same. The fact is the staff have not changed just the gaffers, the comment on the food not being what it was is not quite true, it is typical pub fare, and unfortunately the menu is forced upon... More

Gaffa's may have changed but service and excellence of food has maintained and got even better. Theres new owners that will bring new and exciting evenings and entertainment that will bring this pub fighting through all the trash talk.
