Visited The Bell last night for the first time. A roaring log fire made a very welcome first impression. The service was friendly and efficient. As it was a Wednesday they had a 2 for 1 offer on the burgers and also pie of the day. All four of us had chicken pie which was absolutely delicious with gravy chips... More

Nice, welcoming atmosphere and pretty decent value for money on the rooms, drink and food. We came here for business, and chose this venue as it's right next to musician Nick Drake's place of rest. Decor's not traditional by any stretch but the dining room's cosy with tables near the fire.

A really nice atmosphere, with lovely decor, great choice of beers on draft, very friendly staff, food was good, but compared to other pubs/restaurants in the area it was pretty pricey with a small menu.

Great place to eat drink sleep...lovely atmosphere in cosy restaurant and the food was better than expected...highlights ...tasty and "light" mushroom risotto and amazing bread and butter pudding (never usually my fave) was something special. Friday hotel deal made the whole night good value. The room (moorean) is tidy with spacious bathroom and overall 5/5.

We love our Sunday lunch and often find ourselves disappointed but not this time. From the moment we entered this lovely welcoming pub till we reluctantly had to leave our whole experience was great. My husband and I had the roast beef, tender, tasty and plentiful followed by apple crumble, which was the best ever. A good selection of drink... More

I stayed at The Bell on a stop over between jobs - 30mins from Birmingham, through treelined country roads to the most gorgeous village and The Bell. Adequate parking to the rear and was shocked when entering - from the outside a typical English pub but entering the front door, a stylish, modern designed establishment with a warm atmosphere. The... More

We arrived late having completely messed up on our journey. It really helps to key in the right bell rather than one 41minutes away in whittington.big stressypants moment. For this reason we arrived too late for dinner.Fortunately, the manager,a young chap with a very dark beard took pity on us and served us with some very good quality food in the well designed... We stayed here for an overnight. Rooms are comfortable; food was amazing. Staff were friendly, and the village is very quaint. Plus Nick Drake is buried in the churchyard, if you fancy a music pilgimage.

Honestly this place is the best for food in the local area. I always look forward to visiting and never leave disappointed. A little tip would be to have the soup of the day. It doesn't matter what the flavour is as it is always beautiful. Ashley, the owner is always trying to keep things fresh and trying new menus... More
