I had the chocolate pancakes for brekky this morning expecting just that, rather I received a crepe with a thin layer of Nutella inside which was just above warm. A bit disappointed but I was starving so it went down ok. My husband had the chicken and cheese pancake (presented as a crepe) which was piping hot and his tasted... More

On a recent trip away we planned our day around stopping here as it was somewhere we both had wanted to go. When we arrived it was a freezing day and it wasn't much better inside. I was expecting these amazing pancakes however what arrived was something you would cook up at home on the weekend. They were nice enough... More

I'd been there years ago with my family. It was fantastic then. This time it was ok but not as good. The pancakes were nice but the coffee was not really drinkable. Very disappointing when I drove a fair distance (from Bicheno) wanting a great coffee. A little disappointing that in this day and age they take cash only.

A lovely oasis to stop and have a pancake and a coffee in a very rustic and charming setting. Well worth the drive to get there.

I remember going here a few years ago, we had to wait for a table and the food was fantastic. The restaurant hasn't aged well, the pancakes were OK, I had the mild satay which was quite good but the rest of the party had mixed feelings. Tea was just a bushells teabag in a pot and they charged quite... More

Not impressed. Drive out of the way to get there to find cards not accepted. Menu mentions surcharges for sharing a pancake and for noisy children, with some lame joke about relocation outside or being fed to the elephants. Skipped!!!

Visited 10 years ago and wanted to return, still amazing!! Delicious pancakes for the whole family, sweet and savoury. My only disappointment; it was a cold rainy day, would have been nice to have the wood fire going.

We will NEVER visit again :-( In 2016 to make a drinkable coffee is not a high expectation. The crepe were eatable but NOTHING like on our last visit years ago. It is no wonder the place is for sale.

I have heard about the Mt Elephant Pancake Barn for quite some time, but until this week I had never had the pleasure of being in the area. Our family was travelling from Launceston to Bicheno, and dropped just South of St Mary's and stopped by the Mt Elephant Pancake Barn. The Pancake Barn is a truly charming restaurant, set... More

Terrible. Coffee???????more like dirty dishwater. Pancakes???????premade reheated with frozen reheated fillings. Yuk. Poor presentation did not help to appeal to your appetite yet let alone the blackened stained plates. What a rip off. We will never be back. These people need to get into the 20th century in how to run a restaurant if they wish to stay in business.... More
