Stopped in after taking chairlift up and down. We're looking for a bite to eat, and chose the scallop pie. They were delicious. The service was friendly and the staff efficient.

Stanley is a beautiful spot and Nut Rock Cafe is conveniently located right at the foot of the famous The Nut rock formation. There is a nice selection of house made cakes and the coffee is fine. I was very annoyed though when I asked for a glass of water and was asked to pay for a bottle. Apart from... More

Friendly service. Excellent home made soup, toasted sandwiches, coffee (best we've had so far in Tassie) and ice cream . Great place to go after walking around the Nut.

Stopped in for a pit stop after going up to the nut. Easy and quick service in the style you would imagine from a cafe/come tourist outlet. Probably not for large scale food but it is okay for scones and tea or something small.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with us. Contrary to your perceptions, we actually offer a very extensive menu prepared by Michael who is a renowned chef of the region. Locals know the quality meals we offer, so I hope you will take the time to enjoy our meals next visit. Sally :-) More

We already had our eye on having lunch here after walking the Nut and we weren't disappointed. We had to wait a while for our order but it was understandable as the cafe was extremely busy. The staff were very apologetic even though they had no need to be. It's a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy the view.... More

To entice hubby to walk up the Nut I promised him morning tea at the cafe afterwards. So glad we did. He loves his scones and said these were the best he has ever had. Lovely and so fresh and cream and jam were all local produce. Coffee was really nice too. The lunch menu looked great and reasonably priced.

Thank you for your review. We encourage scone bribery to get your loved ones up and down The Nut! Many people say that our scones look like The Nut and are almost as big and we pick and make our own raspberry jam to top them off! Enjoy your holiday, see you next time! Sally :-) More

We dropped in for a coffee and hot chocolate after out trip to the top of the Nut. The scones looked big and plump so we decided to go the whole hog and have them as well. It turned out to be a good decision as the scones were light and the jam and cream topped them off beautifully. There... More

The positives first: - The scones incl jam and cream were quite lovely, smallish but cheap so that was fine. - Tea was nicely presented. - The souvenier & book selection was great and we bought quite a few things (but not counting this toward the rating as it's not food and drink). However, the negatives: - The guy who... More

Thanks for your review. As shown on our page, we respond to every review we receive - good, bad or just plain rude like yours (and you may note nearly all are positive). No one turns up to work at our happy cafe to be publicly upset and belittled by customers (who don't understand the costs of running a business)... More

Well I never thought I'd eat a scone that was better than the ones my Mum made, but here I did. They were light, huge and fresh and Michael's raspberry jam made them even better. The coffee was excellent too after our cold tri to the top of the nut. The young 2nd year pastry chef who made those scones... More
