Restaurant meets the criteria for a greasy spoon. Would only return if, the eatery is the only one open at late night and didn't want to drive an extra few miles. Have put the restaurant on my not again list. However, I would recommend it for Club Hoppers who need to get over a hangover. Grease helps for the hangover.

On way to Notre Dame-Va Tech game we stopped her on advice of my brother who has need here before. OMG this place is awesome. Priced and food unbelievable. Tons of choices and pancakes that beat anyone around. It was so good we went back morning after game before we left to go back to Virginia. If back this way... More

Has been in operation by same family for 60 years. Open 24/7 except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. You can get the whole menu anytime of day. A whole bunch of food for a reasonable price. It's not trendy or gourmet but that's what makes it great. NO CREDIT CARDS TAKEN! They have an ATM machine. Great breakfasts, great burgers... More

Always done the way I want it. The food is always hot not like other places I go too. the Staff is out of this world. If I haven't been there for a long time, no matter if that person isn't waiting on me they still come over to the table and say HI, and ask me how I am... More

The Freeway has been around forever. A great diner. Rustic looks and hasn't been updated in decades but that's part of the classic charm of this place. Best of all, you can not beat the prices. Terrific value for the money!

It's not a 5 star restaurant, please don't expect the food to be great either. It's not a totally bad place, but NOT a great place either. EVERY time that we've been there, one or both of the orders end up messed up. It seems as if they cater to the "regulars" more than the occasional guest. The staff is... More

Convenient, just off I-280 on Route 2, across from St. Charles Hospital. Open 24 hours. Staff was very attentive. Very rustic on inside but roast beef piled high with brown gravy and mashed potatoes was superb!

This restaurant has been around since the 50s and looks like it. There is no ambiance here. The booth we sat in was very tight and we are average size. Service was quick and attentive. We ordered and our food arrived within 10 mins. Food was good and they have nice choices from breakfast food to sandwiches to dinners. Prices... More

Freeway is a fixture on the East Side. Everything on the menu is great and the staff is friendly (they have been around forever so it's like visiting family).
