Nine of us gathered to celebrate my sister-in-law's 65th birthday and our 27th wedding anniversary. The menu offered something for everyone and I was particularly thankful for the small plate options. Our family enjoyed wonderful meal with friendly service in a historic setting - it was truly memorable.

We stopped here to try their craft beers and were surprised how good the beer cheese soup was! Millersburg beer fantastic as well! Warm and cozy at the bar. Weather outside slippery and icy, great place to hang out to warm up!

I ate here several years ago and didn't have great service and never came back. Last night I ate here and it has definitely improved. Roger our server was most excellent. The crab cakes were good but average. The Harvest salad was very good. The Filet Mignon was excellent and cooked to my desired preference. The crime brûlée was burned... More

Really nice place to catch a beer but we were disappointed in the food. It was fairly crowded on a Monday night and the service was pleasant. However, neither the soup nor sandwiches we ordered were very good.

We have been here before and started in the tavern and went to the restaurant next door for the meal. This time stayed in the tavern. Our waitress was the best...friendly, efficient, fun. Started with an appetizer and beer. The order was 2 fish and chips, a burger with onion rings and a salad with chicken. All was good. Lots... More

My husband and I ordered prime rib which was suppose to be medium cooked. The fat was not rendered. The fat was still white and the meat chewy and hard to cut. It was to come with seasonal vegetables which was 7 or 8 green beans (which were delicious). We both chose the baked potato which was cooked to perfection.... More

NOTE: ONLY visited the TAVERN....not the fancy Steakhouse side. Great place to have a drink or beer and some very good food! Not a noisy bar....a nice place for a burger, steak or wings, etc. Drink specials. GREAT STAFF and food...the patio is nice too!!! NOT overpriced at all.

Went to the Olde Jaol Restaurant on a whim with a co-worker. The burgers were amazing. Also the serving of fried pickle chips were massive. Servers were extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend going here.

OK, it was a very busy Saturday night with the College of Wooster homecoming and Parents & Family Weekend underway. But that's when the staff has to step up! Our party of 7, with reservations, was seated 50 minutes late. And even though our server (and the manager) maintained most positive attitudes, drink orders were taken and painfully delayed. Good... Took a road trip to the charming town of wooster and took a chance on this tavern. Sat on the patio which had cheap metal tables wedged with coasters under the legs to keep them from wobbling. Metal chairs felt unsafe. The waitress looked bored, offered no info on the menu. The soup and half sandwich combo wasn't clear that... More

Description
The Olde Jaol facility was built in 1865, and was claimed to be the finest sheriff facility of its kind. In 1977 the Wayne county sheriffs department was relocated across the street to a new facility. Subsequently, the old jail was registered as a historical landmark in 1980 and in 1995 The Olde Jaol Steakhouse / Tavern was given life. We have an excellent reputation for quality and service.Today, the Olde Jaol houses the finest in food and hospitality. We recommend our Certified Angus Beef® steak entrées. Only 8 percent of beef is tasty enough to meet the brand’s high standards. It’s simply the tastiest, juiciest, most tender beef you’ll ever have.
