Don't let the neighborhood deter you! The food is worth it!! I've had two meals so far out of the carne asada platter ($12) I bought for lunch and have barely put a dent in it! My only complaint is they were out of cantaloupe water when I went. That stuff is to die for and worth every penny of... More

A local place. Thank goodness my husband is a stout guy because I wouldn't go here alone unless it's high noon. The neighborhood is very "urban" and authentic. But the food will knock you back! I ordered a regular burrito and my husband ordered the "king" burrito (first photo that looks like an egg on top. It's cheese and sour... More

Mr. Tacos is located in a former Tastee Freeze style building; you walk up to the window, place your order, wait a little bit, get your food, and either eat at one of the picnic tables located on the property, or take it with you. Usually, I take it with me. But I have eaten my lunch on site and... More

Last time I was there I heard a shooting down occur the block.. no joke. Neighborhood is a little shady but I think that makes it all the more the adventure. Food is excellent authentic Mexican, with all sorts of great meat selections most gringos aren't familiar with. Prices are slowly climbing as word is getting out about this diamond... More

I eat at Mr. Taco's fairly regularly, at least twice a week. I live on the other side of the highway (I-244) from it but it is in walking distance. The neighborhood is old (buildings from the 20's - 40's is common), but it slowly changing for the better. I have lived within a couple miles for the last 6... More

First of all this place is in the ghetto and looks kind of shady, nevertheless, the food was amazing!! They do have a drive threw if you don't want to get out of the car. We had the taco platter with pork and it was so good, tasted just like real Mexican food, not texmex crap. The red hot sauce... More

Read loads of reviews for this place, not just here but on yahoo and urbanspoon all near five star saying best Mexican etc. We were so excited to try it. It was a real let down to be honest. We come from Springfield, MO where there are some AMAZING authentic Mexican restaurants and Mr Tacos was nothing close. Don't get... More

I agree with previous review. Great food. We use the walk-up window in the daytime. Great salsa.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican tacos this is the place. The carne asada is the best you will ever have and the carnitas, al pastor, and barbacoa are also great. They also offer lesser known taco meats such as buche (esophagus), lengua (tongue), and cabeza (head). Be sure to try both the green and red salsas. In addition to... More
