The Restaurant is old but the food is great! I love their soft cheese tacos and their complimentary relish and corn tortillas! The relish consists of diced carrots, onions, and jalapeño peppers. Yummo!

They have pretty good food, a little bit of a spin on classic Tex Mex. Do not recommend the queso, it has a funky taste. Was excited to try the watermelon jalapeno margarita, but was pretty disappointed. It was so overwhelmed by the low quality...More

I have been eating at El Chico's for well over 50 years, becoming a fan when in college and occasionally they would have an enchilada dinner special for $1.29 or something like that. One of the few places I could afford to eat at a...More

Had to wait over an hour for a table as they had two groups that totaled about 8 - 10 persons each and the waitress did not want more tables, it actually took a manager to finally get us seated. The waitress ended up spilling...More

I'm sorry about the wait, Brett. We're understaffed this week due to the holiday and only have limited space in our restaurant. It's likely that our server was doing the best she could to take care of all of our customers, but I assure you...More

Service was slow however we did have a large number of people for lunch 10 people. Food was just ok. I would have rather went to taco bueno. The food did not have a fresh food taste. Tasted like they heated up our food.More

I'm sorry to hear this, Kallie. I assure you that all of our meals are made from scratch and to order. It's possible that, with such a large party, some of your food may have been put on a warmer until it was ready to...More

We just spent six weeks in Arizona. And besides one restaurant near Tubac called Wisdom, this is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the last two months.
